Clone Room Set-up Questions

Hello everyone. I am a first time grower. Well, somewhat. I have grown before and my daughter said it was "fire," which she had to translate for me to mean it "kicked ass." What I am wanting to do is turn my spare room into a clone/mother set-up. Do I need separate lighting needs for the clones than the mothers? Should I put the mothers in one tent and the clones in another? I will be using t5 lighting, so with a 4' 4 bulb light, how many mothers would that cover? At least 2 I am hoping. Anyway, enough questions for one post. Any advice will be appreciated!

In my room I have a 400 MH that I use to veg my plants and a 6 bulb 4' T5. I can fit 2 mothers under the T5 and run a 9 bucket RDWC under the 400. When I take clones, the 400 is free (plants have been moved to another room under 1000) so I throw the mothers under the 400 for 2 weeks while the clones sit under the T5. When they are ready to transplant, I put them in the buckets under the 400 and move my 2 mothers back under the T5.

them T5 will do 2 mothers no prob also the clones can survive under a couple of 20 watt cfls so put them under your T5 and if you run out of space just add a couple of 20 watt(100 eqv) cfls.

your T5 puts out 20 thousand lumes which is more than enough for 2 mothers and some clones

Cool. Thanks man. So I would have plenty of light output for two good moms under one t5 and then do the clones under cfls. Eventually, I might set it up as perpetual, but for now, I am just going to be doing clones. Looking to put out 1 to 2 hundred every couple of weeks. Is that possible with just two moms?

I have decent sized moms and could probably get away with taking 25-30 every 2-3 weeks. IDK though, maybe you can get some bushes going that will allow you to take more. I'll be cheering for you!

I really don't know what would be realistic. I've never done it before. I can grow like there's no tomorrow, but this cloning is all new to me. So would that be 25 to 30 from each mother?

Yeah I could probably pull that off and still leave enough of the plant behind to live. You might want to look into building some bubble cloners out of totes. I have heard good things about them and would really cut down your work load with that amount.

I am going to get a 64 site ez cloner or aerocloner. I have seen the diy ones but I do not have the time or patience. Between my outdoor garden and getting this room set up, I really don't mind buying one. Do you think I should do a tent for the moms and one for the babies?

Thanks for all the info. Can't wait to get this thing started. I will keep posting and let you know how it turns out.
