I'll bet you don't have an airstone in there. You absolutely have to have an airstone for it to work. Put the stems about 1/2" into the water. Best of luck.

i just hooked up my 400 hps to put over my clones, and 10 mins after i turned it on, my taller one is wilting over, im freaking out, i have an air stone, in a drip system, and they arent growing roots very good either. i wonder if i shocked the crap out of em.

Holy crap, 400w hps for clones???? wow, that's bringing a canon to a gunfight. clones are delicate and don't really need a lot of light, just a cfl or two will be plenty, or even fluroescent.

its ok kinda glad to hear im not the only one with issues any help would be great mine keep getting soggy all the way up the stem do you know how to fix it?

clones should be taken from the growing tip of a plant. they should contain at least two nodes. because the plants dont have their own roots yet, care must be taken to not let the cutting dry out, so keep them humid by using a dome over tem.its also easyier to get rot because of this high humidity enviroment,so use a very free draining medium or none at all.cut back large fan leaves, the just transpire too much water.you can cut a leaf in half by removing the tips with steralized scissors.folar feed a very diluted ballanced nute(grow+bloom+micro) if yellowing starts.leave the plant alone during while its trying to root, dont be pulling them out to inspect all the time have patience.the cuttings will either die bigger,or wilt and die so disturbing the root zone and removing the humidity dome 5 times a day must stop.i know its hard to do,lol.look at the top of the plant to see what the roots are doing.happy roots= new growth and getting bigger.use olivias cloning gel.be careful with heat mats,i used to use a propagation tray with no holes filled with about 2 inches of sand in between my mat and cutting tray to evenly distrobute the heat.their is los of differant systems that work.some of the best ive seen are: air pump and prop tray,no dome w/ bubble wand.the cuttings were placed in styrofoam 1'x3'x3' with a small hole on the middle and alowed to float around with the roots in the water. its pretty humid around the water,so no humidity dome was used.another way is just use rockwool cubes( no holes),and propagation trays with a dome.the only problem with this system is you have to watch the water level perfectly.too high and the rockwool gets too wet and they will rot, too low and they wont get enough water.when placing the rockwool cubes in the tray, use a tray with the right size 1' squares and make sure all the cubes are at the same depth in the tray,if some are higher than others they wont get any water.i cut a square off one corner to keep an eye on the water level and so i can add water without removing the cuttings.keep the water level 1/8-1/4 of a inch above the bottom of the rockwool cubes.take the corner square from the tray, put in a piece of rockwool and wet it, then slice the side open to see exactly where the bottom of the rockwool is.they dont go all the way to the bottom, mark the trays where this level and 1/4 inch above.now you have two lines, low and fill to make it easier.ebay search propagation tray with dome if you dont know what im talking about.they are black trays(clear dome) about $10.its hard at first, but

you can do it.beats paying $100 for fem seeds or wasting space with a bunch of males. good luck to you guys. feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Cloning is the easiest thing to do..........
U dont have to do all that bullshit....airpump,special rooting gel,ect !!!!!
this is how it's done Guys
This is a cheap little Daisy Cloner

In Cloner

6 days

7 days

8 days

10 Days

make sure you split the stems about 1/2'' up....... fill the cloner with filtered water add 1oz of super plant tonic ,plug it in .put some light above them ( i have 4-42 watt CFL'S on mine) 18/6 light cycle and a 24/7 on the pump...........Ok now it's your turn!!!!:eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke::eyesmoke:

im thinking i didnt have enough light, then way too much, i may have over nuted, ( but im not sure if it was the nutes or the heat), it got 105 degrees in my house for about 4 days, ( A.C. broke)and my bubble stone wasnt working right, all at the same time, the leaves were turning brownish on the tips and some sides, one leaf had little copper colored spots on it, im lucky i still have one left. and i will still be lucky if it doesnt herm on me. : ), just 2 let u know how i corrected my prob., now it stays between 80 - 87 degrees, 40 - 50 humid.

and thank you 2 dan cat, and GTO for ur feedback and advice,. those are both great systems, those roots were amazing. this is the first time ive done cloning all on my own, last time it was my friend who did all the work, then showed up on my doorstep with 2 beautiful 6-8 inch cuttings, of green crack, i lost the light he gave me during a move, and had no clue, but live, learn and grow, right?

and calvain, what system are u trying 2 grow these in?, maybe not enough air between water and bottom of the clone, or oxygen, if they get soggy or roots are rotting, not sure.

It sounds like your having problems using your home made system.

Listen closely, Buy rock wool cubes, cut a branch, dip in root hormone, place in rockwool, keep in dome, mist them 3 times a day, and boom roots in 1 week. I only use 1 13 watt cfl for this and it works every single time, i've never ever had a problem cloning.

I also have a home made aero cloner. I always have good results 99% rooting. But i noticed a problem when i was using tap water in the cloner they seemed to take longer so i just put r/o water with an air stone and heater.

i also run my misters at 15on 15min off works well for me and give the stems more o2
