Climate Change Fanaticism

I.E. : my GF, it does not matter how much science and evidence i throw at her, i get the same response every time

"but what about all the scientists that agree its a problem"

head in a box, with no data to back up what she thinks (she is a runner, and she agrees with a carbon tax, even after i explained to her how she will be taxed for running as it causes her to emit more c02)


the problem is, there are many many many people like this



she cites a college science textbook as her source to prove global warming LOL

of course doesnt listen when i tell her that textbooks are written by people, and can be changed in order to get people to think a certain way

What exactly is your position on global warming? Global warming caused by mankind? Alternative energy sources?

I think it's a lot more than getting off oil (which is the argument for the main contributor to C02 emitted by man) simply for the reason it may or may not contribute to global warming.

I think it's a good idea to look to other resources instead of oil so we're not so dependent on the middle east. Also, it's going to run out one day, in our lifetime or our grandkids lifetime, is waiting till there's no other option the best way to go? Shouldn't we plan ahead?

I'm not familiar with the carbon tax, do you have any information about it?

my position is "climate change" has been happening for millions of years

humans effect is insignificant

the carbon tax is the tax imposed based on your energy consumption (i.e. some one comes to your house and inspects all of your appliances) as well as how far you drive on a daily basis


its a green movement alright

Where did you hear someone will come to your house and inspect your energy consumption? That sounds really far fetched. That's a complete breach of privacy, and sounds like a pretty tough task for a government agency to check accurately.

Who stands to gain huge profits from persuing alternative energy sources?

There is one in Ohio too but it isn't really control. it uses the remotes and allows utility companies to do rolling short period turnoffs in critical periods. What is working better than the government sticking their damn nose in, is a program by elec companies where they give a discount to customers who voluntarily accept the device.
