Clear Reservoir fact or fiction

I heard from some cat that using clear material for your Res. will cause alge growth in tank. Anyone have knowledge on this.

it sure will paint it black on the outside and than cover that with white black keeps out light and white reflects heat

Algae needs sunlight to grow as in lakes............. sun resistant cont. and cover water

you don't want larvae in the water.......

Yes it does, try to use a dark tub like a black or blue rubbermaid one and cover any light leaks on the lid into the res. When mine were small I actually cut out black plastic to put around the base of the plant so no light went through the net pots into the res.

wherever light hits....there shall be algae
