Been trying to think of a a way to get ALL roots out of used hydroton. I came up with it couple days ago. After thinking long and hard, and trying to wash em a few different ways Lol.
I knew if the roots were dried out it would help, but couldnt figure out a way, then boom!

So i did it with a cup full and blew the roots off to top off a plant. Looked like i pollinated the room. Lol. Works good!

Conclusin: compressed air is excellent for dry hydroton and roots. MUST BE 100% dry (hydroton/roots) to work best.

Probably you should do this OUTSIDE your home. Sounds like a good idea, tho. Would a 6' fan put out enough for this to work?

Yah a fan would work. The roots are super lite when dried out. Bearly any air will blow the roots out with ease. Def do any large quantity of it outside. Lol.

Cleaning hydroton was such a pain in the ass, I quit doing it and just bought new. I'll try this. Just a good windy day might work?
