Clean yo' grinda, fool!

Seriously, folks. Until about a week ago, I had never cleaned my grinder in 3 years of having this one (Cops took my last one). So I was looking at my grinder on this fateful day, a week ago, and thought, "This shit is pissing me off. Too sticky. Won't turn smoothly. The kief screen is all clogged with oils from my finger."

So what did I do?

I took my grinder apart into all three pieces. Filled up a tupperware with isopropyl alcohol and let the whole thing sit in there for about a minute. Then I took the screen part and pushed it up and down in to get the alcohol to go through each part of the screen. I took a paper clip and scraped off a couple chunks of hash that were in the threads. Took it out, dried it off. Viola. Brand new grinder. This shit was sparking. Turned as well as the day I got it. So remember, ya'll.... Clean yo' grinda, fool!

i had one just like yours, i took the screen out though cuz it really didnt collect much pollon. and with it out it worked much better, it didnt grind the weed up to small cuz it would fall through the holes in the perfect size

Been grinding for a year on a large space case. Thing is crusted, CRUSTED with trichomes.

I frequently clean the screen with a small brush

However, I just removed like a half gram of keif from the bottom of the screen no joke I hadnt checked the bottom in months

still turns like glass

i honestly was like 5min away from typing in google how to clean your grinder. mines starting to sqeak now theirs so much keif. thanks

Do you do anything with the alcohol? can't you cook it down and make hash?

I know it wouldn't be much so is it worth is what Im asking?

I suggest hitting the grinder on the table first to get all the kief out. Nice avatar to you too. +Rep

I'd say if you hit it on a table and get all the kief out before, it would be better than evaporating of the alcohol from the post-cleaning solution. Also, take a needle and get it all out of the threads, a lot can hide in there surprisingly. I used 70% Isopropyl, so you wouldn't want to to try to get ISO hash out of it since there is 30% water in the solution. If you did want to evap it all out and make hash, then I would use Everclear or 100% Isopropyl. But is it worth it? No, not really.

You should be able to handle it like iso hash...

Id just pour the used alcohol in a container, and let the alcohol evaporate.... I wouldn't really recommend 'cooking down' isopropyl alcohol as it's EXTREMELY flammable.

I recently cleaned my Space Case Titanium grinder with denatured alcohol and a toobrush. Now the ground bud falls right out...no digging. I've had it like 6 years without ever cleaning. Now it's just like new.

But most isopropyl has a percentage of water in it, meaning after the alcohol evaporated you would have to cook off the water. Which, in my opinion, isn't worth it for a tiny nugget of hash.

Hell yeah dude! Space casee! I got the large 4 piece titanium. Best $100 ever spent in my life. Seriously. I love grinding shit with it, so much fun. Everything about it is absolutely perfect.

You should be able to find 99% isopropyl Doesn't matter that much, the water evaporates eventually too buds, when cut fresh are like 75% water.
