City of Calgary, Shutting down Legal Grows

Here is a list of homes shut down by the Health Region. Not all of them are shut down for cannabis but the ones that are, they are licensed.
http://www.calgaryhealthregion.ca/publichealth/envhealth/inspection_orders/housing.htm

The city of calgary is showing up with health and safety inspectors and shutting down legal grows under the following premise.

"This activity is known to create conditions that support mould growth and cause extensive damage due to excess heat and humidity produced during the plant growing activity. This is a breach of Section 2(1) of the Nuisance and General Sanitation Regulation and of Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Housing Regulation"

They also state other reasons if they find it. If they find mould in the home. Or electrical tampering. However mould and tampering is not always listed as a reason for the shut down. The bold quote above is always mentioned.

Here are two reports for homes that got shut down. Read the reports.

2) http://www.calgaryhealthregion.ca/publichealth/envhealth/inspection_orders/Orders_Housing/2015/Active/14_Royal_Birch_Terrace_NW_Calgary_January_16_2015_A.pdf

Here is a forum post by someone that got a call from city inspectors. The grower says that they knew he had multiple licenses. And the city knew the date of expiration and plant limits. I dont know if they shut him down or not. He stopped posting about it.

the first reports are clearly Asian gangs with licenses!
the other forums sounds lagit like harper and hc have let the info out. but they did say as of april 2014 they were letting the info out in surrey bc for shut down inspections, im not sure about all of Canada.
its wrong yes, they haven't called me or notified my lawyer, who owned my house for dg.

When the MMAR is reinstated HC will give municipalities the heads up to create bylaws to control MMAR like MMPR zoning requirements. Expect draconian bylaws instated that will keep MMAR from home growing. Back to the underground we go.

Also I think small towns we be less restrictive as that is a lot of dollars that powers small town economy.

Interesting. Exactly how did they know they were growing?

Well any time anyone had a inspection from the city inspector or had their alarm hooked up to a police station or quite a few have gone to police stations and told them what is going on at the address.

Maybe something simple like a call by a neighbor to the cops. Then the cops call health Canada. Health Canada says it's licensed. Then the cops just send in the city since they can't do much. Just an opinion. I have no idea. It's all the talk at the hydro store I shop at.

mmj licence, orchid licence, lettuce licence, tulip licence, pansy licence....fuck it I'm broke....and I wanted to have rasp berries this year too.....

the gov did a corporate takeover from the underground growers and cannabis is a corporate crop now with nothing to stop them from doing what they want with it now

that would be funny. i ran into my old DG & found out that BC Hydro came in & shut him down for violations...it's happening out here too.
i guess they want to go after them any way they can.
from what i read here, any plants in your house are dangerous...I guess they decide on which plants they will go after. my Mom has a ton of different plants in her living room & has never been inspected. I think that reasoning needs to be reigned in. i know a lot of older folks who grow a lot of plants on their patios & in their homes. they display them very proudly too but why has no one ever inspected them to ensure those poor people aren't poising themselves? oh my........

Maybe if you have a license extension under the mmar and you can still grow in a shed, detached garage, work shop on the property. Might be a wiser place to grow instead of inside the home.

BC hydro is doing the same thing? Wow I thought BC was more liberal.

I would do this if we were allowed the address change. Saying we can't move but now trying to say we can't grow in homes is straight BS.

From what I've been told BC hydro doesn't do anything unless the city/municipality wants it. They only care if you tap the power other wise they're a corporation which is about income.

I'm sure there's more to the story.. like a police escorted municipal electrical inspection followed by bc hydro shutting off the power for instance..

I am pretty sure that HC med garden info was always shared with local police departments. It was a clause the license, wasnt it?
