Today is day 38 flowering. I plan on putting the 2 Feminized Chrystal plants from Nirvana into flowering tomorrow. They are only about 14" tall, but very bushy. Its my first grow but they seem healthy and happy.
Current set up is a very low-cost DWC in ice-cream pales with small tip air stones running off a small aquarium pump. Medium is soil (not my idea) but it seems to be doing ok. I ordered the FlowerTabs from Nirvana to see how well they work. I also have a small humidifier and air purifier in the closet. Mylar on 3 walls and a box that is lined with Mylar on the fourth side so it gets lots of light. Currently vegging with two 24" "grow bulbs" cant remember the exact wattage but they are about 6700k? I found a 150w HPS SunSystem lighting set-up ($80 shipped) from Grow Annex. It is hung and ready to go. I will probably need to get a small fan and humidity/ temp gauge.I changed all the light bulbs in my house to CFLs to hopefully off-set the price of running the HPS light.
Each of the plants has seemed to take on traits from each side of its gene pool. One seems to have shorter fatter leaves while the other has longer thinner leaves, it will be interesting to see what happens once I switch the lights. last attempt was just a bag seed practice and a week into flowering, showed males. It was a sad day after putting in all that time and decided to do it right and ordered some Fem seeds.
We are now gearing up for summer just got done placing orders for this years crops: THC Bomb, Hash Bomb, (3 Free Fem Easyrider), Super Lemon Haze, Afghan Kush. Also ordered some Dr. Grinspoon from Barney's Farm.We couldn't resist. It looks so odd. With its 90-100 flowering time it is way too long to grow outdoors here, but if it got a good start, maybe a transplant would work... or just complete indoor grow. There will definitely be a grow log for those!
I am gearing up for my first complete DWC grow. I ordered some hydroton and net pots today. Getting some 5 gallon buckets from a local restaurant (dark green). All my other supplies are easily found at Walmart.
