chronic back pain

We're narrowing down my back pain to a tore ligament that holds my sacrum in place. I guess after the tear scar tissue forms and irritates the affected parts to which it holds. It hurts bad too, I always feel twisted and often can never feel comfortable in any position, sleep is terrible but on the bright side I'm better than some and worse than others so it equals out to me.

I can still walk and enjoy my life and to think negatively about the situation isn't gonna help a bit.

Wow, what a great attitude!! I think that alone will help ease the pain. I've noticed that mean, complaining people seem to always be in some sort of pain - imagined or real. Best wishes to you bro.

Thanks bro appreciate the positivity! Don't get me wrong some days it hurts so bad I do become a little negative, pain will do that to ya! But for the most part I know my body will heal as much as it can and from there some day ill strengthen everything around the injury and will be "ok" I could barley walk a year and a half ago and it's done nothing but got better still hurts real bad but ill take any improvement over when it first happened.

A surgeon told me once I have an extra bone in my sacrum. Whatever he calls it its still a pain in my butt. I looked into laser spine surgery. Insurance covers only a small part of the procedure. When I asked how much out of pocket costs were involved i never got a call back. I guess if you have to ask its too expensive. Traditional surgery leaves so much scar tissue sometimes you end up trading one pain for another. Which is what happened with my lumbar surgery. Now the whole left leg is numb. It's weird standing in a pool and one leg feels cold and the other feels less cold. My lower back pain pails in comparison to my thoracic pain. It is the worst. Without pain relief i would surely off myself. It makes me feel 300 years old. Thank god for methadone.

See I burnt out my opiate use real young, tore my life to shreds was on methadone for years. I'm raw doggin it I guess you could call it there's not a day that goes by I'm not thinking man I could take a pill and feel better but the scale weighs in the negative when I think of the physical abuse opiates do and their repercussions of my soul. True pain is no joke I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I feel for ya bro I have no numbness and can't imagine the changes it made in your life. just keep on keepin on!

one day I hope all who suffer from this pain can be rid of it but until then we do what we can to survive.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but cooking pot into clarified butter (ghee) can be used as a topical pain killer in addition to medicating and it has been a huge help to my back pain, my mom in law had hip replacement surgery and it helped her tons too!

Hello, I too have had severe and chronic pain for the past 13 years, due to a ruptured disc injury. Eventually that disc collapsed and I had horrible nerve pain down my arms. It was bad enough that I had to stop working and i was on a lot and got sick of the pain management approach, mostly all medications, so I decided to give cannabis a try. I started it in earnest after my first neck fusion and was able to get off my medications. I had a second neck surgery and was on opiates for 4 weeks, I used cannabis to get off the medications. I have found that edibles are the best bang for my buck as far as pain relief and the length of pain relief. I have found that making edibles from a coconut extraction to be the most powerful and longest lasting. A good rule of thumb is a 1/1 ratio of coconut oil to cannabis is a good place to start. So for 1 oz of leaf trim you would use 1 cup of coconut oil. We use butter buds for the oil extraction, which make's the oil more potent than if you used just leaf trim. You will need to experiment on the ratio's for the oil, if you want strong then increase the trim or use trim and butter buds. I have made it as strong as 3 oz of butter buds to 2 cups of coconut oil, it was super potent, but you can take it and cut it by adding plain coconut oil for your recipes. Good luck and keep trying until you find what works's for you.

Thanks for the info bro! And yes I have found great pain relief in edibles. I still to this day am flabbergasted at how much cannabis has saved my way of life! It's just enough to where I don't need opiates. Trust me some days I hurt so bad it feels like I'm getting kicked in the nuts all day( my nerve pinching is in sacral area) but a good cannabis regimen kills enough of the pain I can at least make it thought he day. I'd have to say one thing I am doing a lot of is stretching the muscles in the affected area, it helps a ton on a tight day.

I am though finally stabilizing and not a moment too soon as it was a huge battle not to get back on opiates.

Beuffer420, your comment about how the opiates robbed your soul spoke to me a lot. Getting off those flippin thing's is the worst and I wouldn't wish it on anyone's. However, you know if you continued down that path it only leads to a dead end. I have been through it and totally hear what your saying. Cannabis has some dissociative effects, meaning it breaks the chronic pain cycle both physically and mentally. Just like you said it doesn't take all the pain away but lit distract's your mind enough that you stop feeling the pain. It has worked wonders for me and my recovery, I couldn't have been more happy. Keep keeping on and spread the word!
