I have chronic back pain because some of my lower disc have collapsed. It also causes some nerves in my leg to be pinched. I am a waitress by trade. my lower back and leg hurt horribly all day at work. do you think smoking a little marijuana would help with that pain, or can help me sleep better at night? Just curious. new to the group and haven't smoked marijuana in years. thank you

I have 2 fractured vertabrae , I found making cookies with it better for pain , smoking seemed to intensify the pain a little, altho I still smoke it lol, could be the strain though, using for pain is almost as new to me as growing :) , so this is rookie advice

yes Trishinks......if you found the right strain, you can get as much or more pain relief then actual Morphine. I know for a fact. I have a strain at home that enabled me to taper to 1/2 the amount of Morphine I used to take. They are making and testing strains right now with a guarenteed 1:1 ratio CBD to THc.....by just planting a seed and growing it out to fruition. CBD CREW has many strains with documented releif by its end users as well as symptomatic issues as well.....There are many others and many other strains that are good for pain relief BOG LifeSaver.....DJShorts Blueberry lines etc.......... hope this helps.....I would hate to think a young lady such as yourself suffering from this type of lifelong pain not to mention it hurting to put your legs up:wink:
Respectfully,

In the meantime, those Skechers shape ups are like a pillow ride through the sky. Dromaderis makes a very comfy shoe for those on their feet all day too.

It will help and remember mj is an anti inflammatory. I have bad chronic back pain. Like someone else said, edibles are great for pain and they last longer than smoking too. I think I'm going to make some brownies tonight!

Allow me to first empathize with you, I too suffer with severe chronic pain.

I'm in my early 30s and have endured progressive chronic pain for my entire adult life, so I can relate.

Cannabis in flower form, has some capabilities of relieving pain contingent upon the levels of particular cannabinoids and terpenes found in the essential oils of the cannabis plant.

However, as mentioned by someone who obviously knows what they are speaking about, some strains can and will worsen pain levels...very strain dependent.

Up til about 3 years ago, I dealt with this pain soley with the use of cannabis...it was never, every sufficient enough to cover my pain entirely.

I had seen doctor after doctor, none being able to diagnose the symptoms.

Any way...fast forward..turns out, I have a disease similar to rheumatoid arthritis, except much worse.

Introduction into the world of pain management..opioids finally gave me some of my life back, but that being said
opioids carry physical dependence.

This aspect sucks, fortunately I have no issues with addiction and I'm provided with a compassionate doctor, so running out is NOT every gonna happen.

Fast forward again ..
About six months ago, I tried hash oil for the first time, well my first” dab”..I've smoke plenty of hash and oil, but only on top of flowers.

After my first hit of clean hash-oil of a glass nail, my life changed at that moment.

My pain levels dropped significantly, and much more effective than powerful narcotics..I'm not speaking of Vicoden, Percocet, Shit...Morphine doesn't even touch my pain levels.

I'm on an opioid about 20x stronger mg-mg.

With the use of hash oil, I've enabled myself to cut 30% of my narcotic intake on work days(I'm a restaurant supervisor, so again, I can relate). And on my days off I cut narcs by 60%.

The moment that we close on this house we are attempting to buy, within a month, I'm quiting the restaurant career and moving into the cannabis field.haha.

Hash oil had been a miracle for me, and I plan on sharing my love for this medicine with the world.

I'm currently studying and learning everything I can in relation to cannabis.

I've got my grow gear already..soon as we move in that new home, sweetdreams are to come true.

My suggestion, tincture.

A liquid that would be dropped under the tongue.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sirdabsalots, do you have a guide or know of a guide to make a tincture? My brother has lower back problems too (c5 and something else) and I wonder if I make this for him if it will help? His right leg sometimes goes numb because of the disk being so low to standards. I feel that this might help.

Damn it, sorry War..

I didn't see this until now, as I don't visit this particular section too often.

If you go to the Colorado medical Marijuana Patient section, there is a sticky up at the top, it's the second thread down..

Making tincture with Med shed.

Also, you could make some standard bho, and decarb it mix with organic coconut oil, make your own soft-gels.

Concentrate, unfortunately is the only effective means of treating severe pain, traditional cannabis just won't work.

A great way to make sure I receive your question..is to hit the like button, on my post, that will inform me to re-visit that specific post..haha

Yeah, War..no problem. This is what encourages my passion to further develop hash and hash-oil into the medicinal capacity.

Let me just say, that when I'm going through a SEVERE spike in my pain levels,2-3 dabs and upon the exhale of vapor, my pain levels drop significantly, and almost instantaneously which is quite the remarkable statement.

Good day sir,

I just wanted to share what I read in regard to the Sketcher's Shape-up Shoes.

I can't remember the specific condition it causes, but there is a current class-action law suit against Sketcher's.

Just looking out for a fellow cannabis partaker.

While cannabis will help with the pain very well, a huge part of making your back feel better is diet. If your putting bad food in your body(sugars, caffeine ect ect) it's going to cause inflammation and ultimately more pain.

Im not saying anything negative about anyone's meathods of pain treatment, just that what you intake into your body can have a great affect on how you feel. I don't eat the best def slack at times. Then I get reminded why I'm not supposed to eat that stuff.

Here's how sugar affects the body. Take your arm hold it straight out, make a fist just like if you were gonna punch someone. Have someone else try to push your arm straight down to the floor(your trying to not let them push your arm down). After you've done that and feel your strength that way, then put a sip of pop in your mouth and hold it so you get a good taste. Have the person try to push your arm down again with pop still in your mouth. You'll b surprised at how much weaker your muscles are just by taste alone of the sugar.

This works unless you have a neural impingement syndrome. But being stronger always helps.

Prolly a good idea Sunni. I have gotten weaker just pacifying the pain. It really takes over after a while. So... Where do I start? I can't sit in no lotus position.

you can start with some simple yoga stretches , if you cant go as far down as the instructor or video you watch or inforgraph dont worry eventually you WILL get there only ever go as far as your body lets you always make sure youre in proper form or youll hurt yourself

Strength and flexibility are the keys to back health and being pain free. If your lower back hurts it's probably because of weak muscles. When I get low back pain (not very often) I lay on my belly on the floor, lift my feet and head and rock back and forth, keeping my head and feet off the floor. I rock til I can't do it anymore; give myself about a minute for the oxygen to recover in the muscles, and do it again. About three sets are about all I need to do. Within an hour most if not all the pain will be gone. ...but smoking a bowl of some good weed will knock out the pain quicker than anything.
