Nope. Im sure many others have. One guy even did a grow journal. He grew in his fire place. But, seriously. It's a top notch idea. I think you would still have to clean the air or everybody in the neighborhood might think your raising skunks in there. Keep us updated.

I saw an episode of Holmes on Homes and he helped this lady who owned a house somewhere in Canada and had rented it out. The person she rented to was a large scale grower but he got busted as Holmes was going thru the house I noticed how the exhaust from the grow rooms were all vented to the fireplace which had been boarded off and a large squirrel cage fan was actually in the fireplace forcing all the air up and out thru the chimney !

I have an unused about 9 meters high chimney I use to vent my air out. I have just two plants, so when the air is continually vented out, the smell is dispersed enough that no human can smell it.

Another way to control (eliminate) smell for large growsis stick an ozone generator in the fireplace
