Chemical weapons used by Syria

I do carry a tiny can of pepper spray, about the size of a lipstick. I really don't like to hurt people and my martial instructors are always punishing me for that. :)

They dragged out footage of a room full of twitching kids from somewhere. And as ole' Doer always says, we don't need a good excuse to fight. Any excuse at all, is just fine.
In this footage does it show Assad forces setting out chemicals? Or is it just some footage of who knows what presented as a narrative?

Perhaps we will free the shit out of Syria and let them have open elections? That worked out so well for Egypt after all.

Maybe the USA should keep its nose out of other's business?

I figured you would carry a knife and throw it into your assailants heart from 20 feet away.

I can do that from 8 feet only, right now. It is 15 feet for the cops, and that is just based on the fastest throw reasonably encountered and the reaction time to get out of the way.

At 8 feet I can stick it and there is no time to blink. I really don't want to knife somebody, however and you would really have to corner me to get me to pull the knife out of my boot.

Thorn style. Makes it a bit difficult to get more distance than 8 feet. At 6 feet, right outside arms length, I'm approaching 100% and sticking to the hilt.

8 feet is better than 50/50 on a good day. I am working an online technique where the guy can thorn stick a bowie from 20 feet.

Watching Kerry beat the drums. This is going to the UN and the UN will attack Syria. Just like the UN attacked Iraq twice AND Afgan.

The UN can attack a country? With what forces? I have never heard of UN forces ever winning a war.

I realize that we ignore the constitution when it comes to Congress being the only ones who can declare war, but now the UN is going to dictate who goes to war? I did not realize they had any authority.

The UN gets the all means necessary by agreement and gives it to the coalition of the willing.

Do try and keep up. :)

Wrong again.

Nothing in the C that says war is necessary for fighting

Well folks, we are on the way. US navel ships are being diverted to stand off the Syrian coast. It seems that our involvement in Syria is going to be sooner than later. Well, on the bright side, this should help with unemployment in the US, because as we all know, there's nothing like a good war to improve the economy. Hopefully this one will go better than Afghanistan.:peace:
Russia has major interests here and they will not allow the US to just walk in and take out Assad. Qatar has been financing the "rebels" who are almost exclusively hired contractors to remove Assad from power. Assad is Russia's puppet and Russia doesn't want Qatar LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) to end up in Europe and elsewhere competing with Russian LNG (which Europe is heavily dependent on). Meanwhile there was a hacker who hacked a large defense contractor and pulled this email back in January. The company admitted to being hacked but wouldn't verify the email of course.

We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.
We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have.
They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.
Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?

Kind regards

David

This outlines a plan to use Chemical weapons and then blame Assad for it. Of course this is a common ploy that has been employed many times over if you're not ignorant to history. Lies started the Spanish War, Vietnam War, Hitler lied to justify invading foreign countries claiming they attacked first and staging the necessary events....

Also, wars - they're not really so good for the economy. They're good for one small segment of the populations pocket book and that's about it. Meanwhile people from the involved countries have to put their lives on the line for this great glory of making the already immensely and immorally wealthy even more so. They're horrible for the global economy and they're horrible for people.

Well, killing is killing and though there is no thin line, mass killing of babies is different. No one wants to talk about the real reasons we went into Iraq. Gassing Kurd and S'hia babies, is just one of the horrors we stopped.

What? Which Iraq? The first one is a well established load of bullshit and the second one even more so.

Dude, you should know, we never set out to win anything in Afgan, only to destroy the Taliban resolve and to show what US Marines really are for next time. It will probably be China Marines next time. They have big mining interest now. That is what we provided for them to take their gold to protect the sea lanes. AND THAT WAS THE ENTIRE POINT.
It was about pipelines again and of course minerals. Oh, and ensuring massive drug export. Vice did a great documentary about the youth heroin epidemic. The Taliban had almost completely halted production of opium. That was a major problem.

Can we sit by while Hutu machete the Tooties? Sure, no problem. But, mass gas on the Borders or Israel and Iraq, no. But, if this makes anything better.....we will see.

And very astute, all Presidents need a little war at the end of their second term to hand a shit bag to the opposition if they take the vote.
So you think this is a good move? Or a good move for the President politically? Politically at this point it's not at all. I saw a poll that suggested, I believe, 9% of Americans supported intervention recently.

Btw Qatar recently doubled their production ability of LNG. Only way they can justify this is if they can open up this pipeline to Europe.

Looking like France and Britain. Plus the US, AUS, POL. As usual. And Russia said very diplomatically they have no intention of trying to use their assets to block.

Russia and China abstain. Business as usual for this C & C. Obama will angle so we are not the boots if he can. It is about time.

Much gold, copper, zinc, vast wealth untapped in that side of the Hindu Kush. The main Chinese copper mine was discovered 2000 years ago. Just a little hole to get a little copper.

Btw, when the Iraqi's were using Chemical Weapons, the US Government was protecting Hussein, supplying him with the weapons and KNEW EXACTLY what he was doing with them. The only reason they went to war against him is because he overplayed his hand. Hussein thought the US would protect him from anything. Hussein was completely wrong and was yet another useful idiot doing the work of powerful people who have no morals and no interest except in themselves.

Recently declassified. Not that it wasn't already apparent that this was being allowed given the lack of response to it in the 80's and the continual support offered, but this puts it down clearly in writing.
