Bought a clone from a disp 6 days ago, brought home and took it out of the red solo cup and put it in a 6" planter for its temporary home. I used some organic MG(i know..) mixed with about 1/4 perlite MG. I haven't paid much attention to the clone other than it has been growing but last night I noticed these bottom leaves.. if you look at the picture the leaf set right above it seems like it may be starting down the same path. Any suggestions?wtf.jpg

Yeah, its not my first choice. Im using something different for my others. Anyways, both of these leave sets were a little damaged when I got them. Is there a way to flush out the nutes from the mg soil?

No bro, that bottom leaf was cut, many growers such as myself cut the tips to focus rooting energy. After they root the cut growth dies, and thats whats happening. Don't overthink it, it'll correct itself in the coming days. I promise. Although MG was pretty much poison for cannabis, I'm willing to bet she looks awesome in a week. No nutrients until she 'pops' meaning starts really growing. Even then with the poison soil go real easy on nutrients when time comes (bloom).

Also, why are growers adding perlite? I don't get it, I don't like high water retention, eventually you will run in to rooting problems, esp if your room is somewhat hot (80+)

I thought it would help keep the mg from clumping so bad. Do you really think perlite is bad? What about lime? Btw my box during lights is 77-80. Thanks also for the tip about clipped leaves, after closer examination I see a couple other clipped leaves are starting to do the same. Maybe this means the plant is getting over its transplant and smashed by a shoe(whoops) stress. from what I can tell most new growth is greatlooking. Thanks

If the new growth is looking lush and green you're on the right path. I'm not fimilar with lime or any additives to soil. Not sure at all but adding lime would only decrease the overall ph, again no idea if this is the case just seems logical. If it clumps, "finger" the top inch or so couple places and the water will retain. This happened with my sunshine #44 soil, it was excellent soil just "clumped", just take extra 3 seconds to agitate the soil before you water. I'm stoked on good ol' fox farm ocean forest. 77-80 is good. Smashed by shoe, bad.

I think lime raises ph of soil to near neutral?
