The vid said warming up the car is illegal in the whole state of Kansas. I'd say the people at fault aren't cops, but rather the state legislature. Cops are hired to enforce and if they don't they get fired....ever hear of quotas. I'm more concerned with militarized police & scared cops who shoot first and then think.

I'm not tripping, if a cop wants to drive by my house I'll make him breakfast cause he clearly went out of his way to come to bfe to see me.

Kansas is ass backwards state, get out while you can...

Thats the oldest excuse in the wold for them to act like jerks....that doesn't go over with me. I never wanted to become a cop in part cause I don' wanna boss people around. Many cops became cops cause they enjoy bossing people around.

As for warming up the car before getting in it, ha ha ha..grow some balls and grin and bear it. My car I've had for 3 years now has remote start and I have yet to use it. U get in, start it up and drive...I'm just happy I don't have to crank the engine over by hand, I wonder what those old timers would have thought about remote starting

Sure I can handle that but what bout the people with kids, or infants or old people....

Also it's hard on cars to just start them up and go when it's below freezing. So sure some of us can bear it and grow some balls as you say but unfortunately everyone isn't the same...

True, true.

As for the car, if U drive slow and easy, the though was driving warms the engine up quicker then letting it idle away. Today cars are design now to warm up fast for less emissions so that letting the engine idle for only a min. went away. A engine will still warm up today in 5--10 mins by just idling away. In the old days, the thinking was it was better to start driving it slowly and make the engine work a bit, so it warm up quicker.

There is also such a thing as engine block heaters. U plug it it a few hours before driving or have a timer set to turn it on. The engine would then be warm before it was started, that still is likely the best way to go for the sake of the engine

Once again not everyone drives a new car :)

I don't disagree it's a stupid ass law but to some people it can mean life or death....

Well fuel injection been around since the mid 80's, here in the rust belt states like Michigan, there are not any cars that old driven in the winter anymore. All are FI and love to idle all day if need be

Its a stupid law. I guess I would have to buy a kit with the heaters for the battery, transmission pan, oil pan, and freeze plug.

Plug it into a 110 outlet come out and have a warm car.

The vid did say they checked for keys. Maybe the law is specific enough that remote start is a loop hole.
