LOL I only had one before my semi-fire - now I have 3 plus a lot of baking soda around for those small bush fires that don't need a tanker to put them out:weed:
I also run my lights during the daytime (or at least the majority of daylight) if they are in the Veg stage which my light schedule is 18/6. For some reason, we all fear fire, yet how many of us have a fire extinguisher at the ready? I know I do not, but in my travels today, will def pick one up.

hey, good looks einsteinus. I worried way to much about the fire so I put the exhaust fan up top and man it makes SUCH a difference. I am no longer worried about fire, becuase the temps went way down for the exhaust. Before I was pushing 90 degrees F now its down to 75

now my only concern and possible problem is PH. I have no PH testing equipment or Ph up/down. I really don't want to but i might have to buy that. ughhhh

I know it always seems that there is something else to get, and it will always be that way. Man always wants to "tweak" this or that, or one of my favorites is " I need to get a better model", or "Update" ... If $$ is tight, especially around the Holidays, get a Ph strip, like for swimming pools. You always want to get a medium to better grade on both a PH meter, and a PPM meter. In this case, spend the extra $25 and get one that is going to be accurate and around for sometime.

Just my .02 worth Bro :-)
Happy Holiday Trails !!

Hey maineyankee, i really appreciate all you help and input.

She got her very first dosage of FF Big Bloom. She is growing quite well to. I see her second set of leaves just starting they look so small and cute. She grows soo quick, I feel like a father and even a mother caring for their child.

just wanted to say, after her first feeding of Big Bloom 6 hours later i already see rapid growth.. can't wait to see what tomorrow morning brings

sorry for the shitty pics, using the webcam on my laptop... hopefully getting a camera today or tomorrow. Anyways, you might be able to see the new set of leaves she is growing.

It's weird, i've never been so excited to wake up in the morning, so i can see how much growth she's done overnight and it is impressive to me how fast they grow!

You DEF have me laughing in a great way Bro !! You remind me so very much of myself when my daughter was born 28 years ago !! I thought that she changed every minute !!
As for the girl ... It is a very, very beautiful sight to see new life forming ... right before your eyes. I too am in awe, when I check in on my (4) "Sleeping Beauties". Looking very forward to watching your girl grow and grow. Thanks so very much for making my day Bro ... I know that I have made a real good friend in you :-) Your "Zaniness" is what I love about You !

Keep up the great work !!
Happy Holidays Asian :-)

Well, i can see the beginning of her third set of leaves. Finally got a digital camera so the pictures will be significantly clearer. Will snap some pics for you guys soon. It seems since i started the FF Big Bloom she's just been thriving, i reccomend this to any newbies cuz its working wonders.

I'm also very surprised how short she is, which is what i want. Everything thing is working out fantastic and as planned - although she is only a week old now. Will update with pics next time.

They look fine Bro. That is normal that they come out that way, and before you know it, they will stem up. Looking Good Bro :-)

her first 3-leaf set has come in. She looks very healthy to me. I think the humidity is low down in my basement - especially in the winter. So i've put a shot glass of hot water right next to her to moisten things up.. get her wet! hah

i want rep

Well, I just put in the third 42 watt CFL. She probably does'nt even need it but it cant hurt, I also have to see if it gets too hot in there to. Thermometer reads 72 F right now though.

I've been looking at other peoples grow logs and at day 10 it seems like my baby is a bit behind the curve. Seems she is growing slower. I think I may have been watering too much - I water her everyday so I am going to try watering every other day.

Edit- Also, i switched from 24/0 to 20/4 yesterday and already with that it seems the stem grew taller just a little. No science behind my logic but naturally there is night time in the world so I think that giving her darkness is natural and good for her.

So, as you can see it seems that 2 of the leaves tend to be curling up at the edges. Not sure why this is happening but i suspect it may have something to do with pH. I have ph up/down on route so should be able to amend that. If it's not pH then it's either humidity or temp. As you can see i have the shot glass of water and tray of water next to her but I'm not sure if that's even doing anything. The temp in there is around +/- 82F now with the 3rd bulb.

Hey Friend :-) I think (IMO) that they look fine. They are green, and not brown, and there appears to be no damage done to the leaves as if you were to have spider mite, gnats etc. Sometimes, as parents, we tend to think that they are not growing as fast or as healthy as others. If you look at an array of pics, it always looks better "across the fence". Trust me ... "The grass is not always greener across the fence, unless it is over a broken septic system" !! :-)

I see where the temp is at 82F and that is "within the guidelines" of where you need for it to be. How about the humidity level? Does your instrument that reads the temp also read the humidity? I know that mine does, and that is how I know if my plant(s) are getting enough light and humidity level. Also, is your equipment that tells you the heat index have a lead to it? If so, you will want to place the lead at canopy level. This would give you a very accurate reading. (I too look at my girls, and then jot down; The time, temp level, and humidity. I then place this info, along with other details, into an excel spreadsheet. This way, I will be able to go back and refer to this as my grow(s) progress. I also Journal on here, as well as have a separate hardcover notebook, complete with pricing details from Home Teapot, Wally World, Hydro Shops etc. I write down sort of like a "Diary" at the end of the day, so that later on down the road, I can look back and see what worked, and what did not.

Just a few tips from me on how I do it ... Just a suggestion. Hope that something in this post helps you out. As I said before, YOU are doing great, and I am only here to help you out in a friendly way. Take Care and stay safe Bro :-)

ahh thanks yankee, your posts are always helpful and reassuring. I'm glad I have one follower on my thread it's good to know that someone is actually reading what I am writing here.

I talked to a friend who used to legally grow in RI and said he could sell me 2 HPS fixtures with bulbs and ballast each for $100. I'm pretty sure that's a great deal so I will be buying those. Just gotta find a day when I can make the trip.
