Cheapest setup help 6.5x6.5x6.5

Need help with a setup , putting back together my 6.5x6.5x6.5 tent and need to think about lighting to cover that area. Right now I have one area 51 sgs 160, one blackstar ion 8, and two blackstar 240w panels. They will not cover this area. I am thinking about two 1000w HPS but I am undecided on what type are the best bang for the buck. I prefer nothing to be relying on electronic timers (all mechanical) and would like to have a price to get reflectors + ballasts. I also will need an A/C unit because two 1kw lights in a tent that size will fry my plants. Thanks for the help.

I would use one 600 and see how it goes. I usually use a 600 in 5x5 areas but sometimes I go 6x6. I shoot for six 100g plants per light with 7.5' ceiling. A 6.5' ceiling is a little low for 1000w imo. Just my .02

What type of reflector do you suggest?

with a dimable ballast you will be able to dim a 1000w bulb to a lower wattage to adjust for heat if you need to.

I run 1 600w in my light house hydro tent with a cool tube and its good for about 6 plants. It easily can run a 1000w, but it would be way more efficient to run 2 600w. Here's my setup currently. Same dimension as you're talking about.

@Paperroller24 what temps are you getting in that tent with that reflector? is your intake cold air?

That's the same tent I have its a lighthouse hydro 6.5x6.5x6.5 I was thinking about doing two 1000kw in cooltubes and growing 6 gigantic plants what do you think ?

I would use air cooled light boxes and forget a/c... Assuming of course that u have a proper place to vent

I use the air from outside and I start flowering at 7pm-7am. Temps vary alittle, depending on how warm it is outside. Of course the summer is a little tough to deal with, but for the most part I run a 230cfm ducting fan through my hepa filter, hooked up to a fan controller, just in case its alittle chillier than normal. I turn the intake on 3 mins after the light comes on and 3 mins before the light goes off in the winter to keep alittle heat in the tent for when the light is off. I cool my reflector tube through my fan that sucks through my carbon filter, which is a 420cfm blower. Provides enough airflow to cool that tube and the identical tube I have for my other 600 Im going to be using. Temps range from 72-77 when the light is on and about 65 when its off. I run my intake on a timer, which is key because you don't want that cold fridged air coming in with no light heat to compensate. Im sure Ive missed talking about something, but if you have anymore questions, just holler.

I haven't really been a fan of the whole LED scene, but you can give it a try. Trial and error is the only way to grow to your liking and what you know. Im really only familiar with the HPS and MH HID's. Its a great tent, you're gonna love it and its the best quality you can find on the net for that price.

I love my LEDs , the quality of buds I get is insane but I cant afford to fill my whole huge tent with them so I will have to go back to hps, I think I am going to do a similar setup to yours but I think I will use two 1000kw in cool tubes and exhaust to outside. I'm gonna get digital dimmable I believe I am looking at a solis-tek matrix ballist right now.

I have grown in the tent before but its been a while last time I used one 600w hps with 3 other leds but it was a hectic setup I want something a lot better.

Personally havent been happy with the keif output from leds... I find that they r great lights but uv isnt quite what i like to bud... Cfls do well ( i have to run cheep due to local supertroopers)

This is the ballast , pretty good price I think for that, and two of both those and I would vent outside and use a CO2 system and my dehumidifier.

Yeah I would try those digital ballasts and just adjust accordingly. I think you got the hang of what you gotta do and what the plant needs to succeed. Just play the daily game of watching the plant grow and under stand what it needs and you're good. Any questions, just holler.

grew this with LEDs and it was way better than the buds I bought from the dispensary that sold me this clone, way more taste, better crystals , density was amazing.
