hey everyone! this is my first ever grow and i just planted them to see what would happen with what i had.

under the completely wrong/worst lights but its all i have. the CFL's were free from the council and the strip light is borrowed. i even got the seeds free from a friend. they are bubblicious from nirvana.

so, i have no vents and no circulation. no way of telling the humidity and absolutely no idea what to do next. it has taken me a month to get them from seed to this stage! if anyone has ever succesfully grown in these terrible and un-ideal circumstances i would love to hear any problems you encountered along the way so i have an idea of what to expect. if i get ANYTHING, a 8th a joints worth or even the possibility to clone a female when i am better equipped ill be happy.

i let them out in the sun if we get any and its not too cold and then a full scale bug check before putting them back in their chest of drawers.

im prepared to just keep them vegging slowly as i build up my 'tools for the job'. do you think i will get away with this?

what would you all suggest is most important to get first? vents/circulation or a couple of higher power lights? when i do buy lights im hoping to just get 1 or possibly 2 of each colour so i dont need to spend any money in that area again. on the tightest of budgets.

if anyone would like to follow my wee adventure even to watch me fail post so i know people are watching :)

also on this last pic if you look very close to the stem you can see a wee bump. can someone enlighten me to what exactly this is? is this what people call pre buds or is it the beginning of a new leaf?? both plants have them.

Just throw a 1000 watt HPS in there without vents, I can't see a problem with that.

Regardless, your plant will DIE without ventilation. You need air exchange of some form immediately.

thank you. that answered one of my questions. will be done in 48 hours. you think 3 small PC fans will be enough for a 3set chest of drawers? its an average size. will post dimensions if needed. how will i power that?

Get those lights as close as you can to the plants...you can use 12v adapters to power your pc fans...lots of videos on YouTube about it..good luck!

cfls are not wrong or the worste, haha, jusst not the best.

so PLEASE dont make the same mistake as me and buy a LIGHT and have no good fans for exhaust or simply air circulation GET some type of fan with a high CFM im new with the fan area but like for cfl grow u dont need a real real power fan,250cfm should do the trick i think.
couldnt tell about the bump on that picture..shouldnt b anything trippy unless its balls but i doubt they come in that fast.
those 3 pc fans will do something,(blow a lil air around) better then nothing and u have to wire em up :/ aint no electrician

thanks everyone for all the reply's. feels good to actually get told what to do instead of feeling like i made the wrong choice/guess.

phyzix letitgrow and rusko, thank you for setting me straight on what to do first :)

jondamon, thanks for the confirmation that a small fan will work.i take it when you say circulation you mean inside the grow box and i still need an exhaust system of some sort?
my grow box is 15"deep 30"tall and 28"wide. what is the smallest/cheapest exhaust i should get for that sort of size?

machnak, is it a good sort of green or do you think they have taken too much nutes from their new soil? they went a very vibrant dark green almost over night!

thank you everyone. +rep for all!

nice job on a first grow man. My first was basically exactly that, all i had for ventilation was a fan blowing around in the closet i had my stuff in and i never had my plant die. I can gaurentee people are gonna throw in fancy suggestions but i say ignore them. its your first grow. get some bud, i couldnt have yeilded over a quarter oz off my plant, it hardly grew more than 3 inches after flowering. But i got a large yeild of knowledge, i learned alot on a similar grow. Keep doing what your doin keep us updated.

thanks asdf, i hear ya dude. i immediately felt as if i had made a huge mistake starting out so ill prepared, but now i think it helps taking in the info relevant to me one stage at a time. im gonna try keep this grow going as long as possible, as i add circulation vents and eventually a decent light of some sort i hope one of my plants will be female and be at a point where i could possible clone her.

do you think that is a decent idea or should i count myself lucky if i get a female at all and get her cropped ASAP and start again and possibly clone a plant that has had a much less stressful life? i guess im answering my own question here when i say "time will tell. . ."

keep ur plants and just get ur environment under control and improved. Lighting and ventilation is the key man. u got the venting idea down now so get some good lighting and watch the results. I bet they start bowing and kissing ur feet with many thanks....haha but seriously they will take off.

aw, unfortunately im going to spend all my "allowance" for the next 2 weeks on circulation tomorrow.

lights will have to wait a while. but im sure some fresh moving air will keep my wee pals happy :D

i cant believe they are a month old to the day. the time really has flown past trying to keep them happy. feel sorry for their 2 siblings that were lost as toddlers. if only they could see their (hopefully) sisters now. . .

am i right in thinking they are actually quite contempt with their amount of light at the moment? i know they aint growing fast/tall but they look happy and healthy to me. . . or am i just slowly going to watch them deteriorate as the they get too tall for the lights i have?

DSC00965.jpgthat is actually 2x20W 2x14W and 2x11W with the strip light being (i think, cant check while attached) 18W. the CFL's are all "red'er" colour and the strip light has a blue tint compaired to them. cant find info on the web, maybe someone can help me find a Krating for these CFL's?.lightbox.jpg

i am moving the chest of drawers inside a large cupboard tomorrow. so i will rearrange lights and have vents installed and pics up tomorrow :D
