i am planning something like a 2x2x3 grow box and need to keep it from getting smelly in my closet so i need a carbon filter and an air pump but i dont want to spend over 100 on both... is there a fairly quiet, cheap solution. If so be specific so i can find what your referring to.

Thanks

hey, here is a link to a site where you can order their products directly, the link has 3 different plug in filter options: http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/products/air-care-odor-eliminators.html
the first two options are available for purchase at home depot and walmart for like $15. they come with a scent cartridge that you plug in if you were to use it normally, however for a grow i would advise against it, you just need the motor running and it comes with activated carbon filters.

or alternatively you could build you own really cheap and easy if you follow this guide that I found, not mine

ok these look good but how well will they work i will have to have air going in one end and out the other with one or two of these in the middle, with the air circulating will they really cut down smell enough? Not doubting you im just wondering how well they cover it.

hey sorry ive been away for a while. i was kind of just thinking about them as like one running in your closet and another in the box, this may be a better option for closet control http://www.hamiltonbeach.com/products/trueair-trueair-room-odor-eliminator.html.

but as for clearing it from the box I would just suggest building your own, thats what i did recently for around $40 with stuff from home depot and a petstore. It measures 18 in long, 6 inch in diameter. I can give you the directions and materials if you want to make one, dunno how far along you are now

i ended up breaking down and buying a 4in centrifugal pump and filter.... also made multiple mufflers just like you did and chained them together...... the output is dead silent the loudest part is the sound of rushing air going into the filter..... will post pics of the system here in the next couple days

nice, same here, i had my 4 inch just sitting in the top flange on my 150hps and it would rattle like crazy, now its super duper quiet
