It seems like it would be expensive to me. I get r/o water from the grocery store. Costs like $.25 a gallon so it doesn't get much cheaper than that. If you will read some of the FAQ's you'll notice that they only rate each filter to treat 22.5 gallons of water on average. I don't know how much the filter costs but I can do the math. I spend $5.60 to buy 22.5 gallons of water. It's a bit of a hassle toting jugs to the store but It's worth it to me.
