Cheap Outdoor Soil?

So i have 6 seedlings 3 are in 1qt pots, while the other 3 are in coffee cups. I am going to transfer them to 5gallon buckets, but have some questions. Today when i went to my local home depot to try to find some cheap and good soils, but there are too many choices and i am not sure what to get I am a first year grower so the soil does not have to be perfect, but what soil at home depot would you guys recommend i get? The options are....
-Miracle grow (a lot of different types)
-Schultz (multiple types)
-Scotts
-Some random "organic" kinds
-some random manure compost
-and some stuff i could mix to make my own soil.

What would you guys recommend? I was thinking of just grabbing some Miracle grow moisture control but ive heard varying opinions on it. Also they only really seemed to sell expensive pots, do you know if they sell cheap pots or buckets that are around 5gallons? because i dsn't feel like paying $5-20 for a pot.

Premier Peat Moss, made by the same people who make Pro-Mix. Much cheaper, about $10 for a 3.8 cubic ft bail at Home Depot. Add it to your native soil with some of that manure compost, blood meal, bone meal. Should be good.

MG moisture control holds moisture that attrqacts fungus gnats and other pests. dont go with mG go with ocean forest by fox farm. 5 gallon buckets htat they sell at home depot works just fine just drill holes in the bottom

Kellogg Patio Plus is sold at HD. It's organic and has worm castings, kelp meal, guano, perlite, etc. for only $5/1.5 cu. ft. Nothing even compares at that price.

Check out my video on YouTube 'Outdoor grow - Organic compost for cannabis' . I just recently got some Kellog Patio, not sure what its like but that sounds great. I also got some stuff called Earth grow. You can buy anything cheap like that and then just add some vermiculite or perlite and some dolomite lime and its also good to add some organic vegetable fetilizer or bood meal, bone meal bat guano. E.B stone is a good brand and they have tons of stuff like that sold at local nurseries. My video shows a few different things i added to my soil.

oh right i forgot to add pro-mix, i did see it there just looked a little pricey though.

Earth Gro is made by MG. I've heard the stuff is a pile of sticks and pine needles. You're right though, there's more than enough soil conditioners at HD to make a great soil.

seriously? that sucks man, i will stick with the kellogs for my other plants. Check out my video on YouTube 'Outdoor Grow - Organic compost for Cannabis . I personally used around 75% organic compost straight from my backyard and like 25 percent vermiculite. There's this park by my house that i go to often and there is always a ton of geese shit everywhere, so today i took a garbage bag and filled it with like 5 pounds of shit, I'm gonna let it dry and brew it into a tea, whenever i feel like feeding the plants again with it I can just go back and get more, This is perfect since i don't have enough money to buy good fertilizer for 10 plants, Check out the picture

haha thats disgusting looking, i hate those flying rats >.< But could someone hook me up with an "equation" or a ratio of things i can buy at home depot and how much to mix together? or should i use Pro-mix?

50% mg organic choice , 20% composted shit , 30% perlite , mix in bout 3 cups of doomilite lime per 5 gal of soil . garden club select 10-2-8 ,omri listed , for veg all sold at lowes /depot . imo this is about as cheap as one can go without prior preparation for their own compost heap and achieve a quality end product .

You dont need 3 cups of dolomite lime, most people use like 1 tablespoon per gallon, i used like 2, 3 cups would be 48 tablesoons for 5 gallons. If you had money to blow you could get the pro mix. Here is my mix for you:


To make 5 gallons:
4 gallons Kellogs Soil $5-$6
1 gallon vermiculite or perlite or more and less kellogs $10 for a huge bag
5-10 tablespoons Dolomite lime aka Garden Lime aka Agriculture lime $6-$7
Optional: 1/2 cup bone meal for added nitrogen and phosphorus
1/2 cup blood meal, bat guano, or worm castings, or like ya boy and get some free geese shit. Any of those for added nitrogen
1/2 cup organic tomato fertilizer or other. E.B. Stone all purpose, tomato food and others.

E.B. stone is sold at local nurseries and provides a complete line of dry organic fertilizers that you can pre-mix into your soil about 6 dollars each for a 4 lb box. All purpose plant food, Bat Guano, Blood meal, Bone meal, Tomato & Vegetable food, Agricultural Lime, Ultra-Bloom booster etc.

Hook it up with some reputation points

better yet, Kellogs is all you need, it will have plenty of shit to keep your bitches happy for 2 or 3 weeks, you might want to add some of other stuff anyways so the plant always has a source of food good luck

Does the pro-mix have perlite in it? And if not should i add some?

It doesn't but you can go grab a small bag for $6 or so. It has added calcium from the shrimp shells which helps root development during vegging. There is also sheep manure one that is great for flowering

do you have experience with pro-mix soil? what were the results? and what would you suggest i do, i need to transplant my seedlings in buckets in a few days (picked up 5 nice 5gallon buckets for $2.34 each.. good deal). I just wana make sure i don't screw up and get bad soil for my first grow :/

Also what kind of Promix should i get? i know they have multiple kinds and didn't know which is better, or if they are all close to the same.
