I was thinking of doing the same thing with my grow. I'm in veg/ seedlings stage and like to have mh and led going as soon as my girls get some height on them.

I've grown under blurple leds for yearsAll the efficiency talk with cobs... My cheap leds are rocking my grow. I could easily fool someone into thinking it was a cob grow

I have a tent that I made adjustable from 4x4 to 6x6. I have a 400and 1000 mh and hps . My led is Mars hydro 700 I have two of them. What do you think I should have as my set up. Both led and 400 or 1000 . Also my height is from 6ft or 7 1/2 ft my choice.

I don't really like using big lights like 1000w. Saying that... a magnum xxxl air cooled hood would be what I would use if I were to do a 1000w lamp grow.
Nice area that 6x6!
In mid-late flowering, to avoid any bleaching/hash tips caused by the leds, I like to aim them away from the tops and have them at an angle to penetrate diagonally through the canopy. Like the sun does when it rises and sets.
So I would use the leds.
Only other thing is could you get a 2nd tent going (3ft x 3ft tent, or a 1m x 1m tent), run that tent with a 400w mh for veg, then run the mars leds with the 1000w in the 6x6 flowering tent?
Possibly run half the small veg tent with 2 auto's, + have some regular mother plants in there for cloning.
I have 6 small ish set up's. I'm not a great grower, but I do cut the time out well by using multiple set up's

I have a 3x3x5 tent that I have my four babies in now. Putting up my large tent up this weekend and contemplating my set up. Might go with the 400 & 1 led in the big tent and then put them as supplemental lighting along with the 400 in full flower. What do you think?I don't really like using big lights like 1000w. Sounds good. I don't use much light in each set up really. I tend to just go with what I think is best for the plants. A nice varied spectrum.
For me temperature is so important, so is humidity, so I just keep changing it until they are both about perfect. Then I don't get pests, noisy fans and my plants can grow in a fairly cool environment.
Everytime I care loads about the environment in my tent, my grow results are great, regardless of how much of how little light is used.

Cool, I'll just K.I.S.S. My temps so far are good along with humidity. I've been out of the flow for the summer because of temps. That's why I bought the led light so I won't have this problem again. I like growing both autos and photos. Have you ever grown blue dream auto and if so how did it turn out. I have the autos and photo blue dream but only grew the photo, It's what I have as my avatar, and I really enjoyed growing that big monster.

It's a beautiful plant, excellent smoke and easy to grow. A real nitrogen fiend in veg up to the 2nd week of flowers. That was it's only high demand besides calcium at 5mls per gal. Thirty day cure and you are in heaven.
