hi, ive been messing about, trying free and easy ways to grow and clone.
anyway cheap and easy way to clone.
need..
2l plastic bottle.
soil mixed with perlite/vac
rooting powder.clear smallish plastic bag,and ele. band.
and plant cuttings.
first cut the top off the 1l/2l plastic bottle 4" from top.add soil perlite, half way up. get your cutting, place it in the soil after dipping in root hormone/gel. then place the clear bag over the top and hold on with the ele. band.
and dont water, just spray every day, and place under a lite,.

looks alot like my method except i use baggies and no band.

my sucess rate has yet to be determined though. 2 of 10 so far, but,4 died in rockwool, the rest look ok.

also have 3 in just water, (trying everything) they also look ok after 2 weeks

i have 80/90 succsess. and if you put the clone stalk, near the side, when you place in the soil, you can see, if the roots are coming, without having to pull out and look, every day like we all doo.

hey crazy

had another clone take root in soil, in like 2 weeks.

wouldnt have even known if i didnt spot mold growing on the soil and try to pull it out.
found a nice little root ball at the bottom. its in new dirt now(mostly) but im still worried about the mold.

has this happened to you? should i be worried?

btw i broke down and bought a cloning tray and dome, sorry, but it was only $10

Great advice, I have found adding kelp extract to the spray every day gets roots about 2 days faster than with out, I am using 2 Tbs per spray bottle of kelp with water.

mould bad. try to keep a little dryer, and try to remove it if you can. or add some more dry soil.

Bro im going to try your method,,,
1) whats the process in which you start taking the plastic bag off the soda bottle? how much every day open? when completly open
2) doing it like this, you dont add any nutes at all???just water until you transplant it?

seems liek you need alot... I just need a CFL 1 , 1 rockwool per clone, 1 basket (that i use during the entire grow) Some hydroton pebbles (that i use during the entire grow) and a bucket.(replace for bag)... I buy the cheap rot product and have 100% root success... its called dip n' grow and it cost 7 dollars and will last me for a looooong time. Thats all you need .. your making it too complicated.:joint::peace:

Actually its not a lot of stuff, if you think it through.

Do you use a dome? (if so, then there is the bottle plastic and band)
Rockwool and hydroton? (soil mix that he probably uses throughout also)

Actually its pretty much the same, no?

I've tried the rockwool and havent had good results (though haven't given up) Just did this method (but before I read it) and seemed to work. (but jurry is out on it also.

Overall its not a big deal. Take a cutting, dip it in rooting compound, put in your grow medium. toss a dome on top. (kinda what you are doing, no?)

Thats it man... so hey you said you haven't had much success with rockwool?... I think it might be whatever gel, powder you use. Like i said in my post i Highly recommend this stuff i use.. its half the price of any hydro gel stuff and its a liquid. Meaning that the gel or powder doesnt rub off when you put it in the rockwool.... Like i said give it a try it wont dissapoint.

id say soil wins for clones every time, ive tried both and soil is 9 of 10 and rookwool is about 6 to 10.

This is sort of like what I just started doing. I remembered in grade school making little green houses out of 2 l. bottles by cutting off the bottme to where you can slide the top part down over or inside of the bottle. (different for different bottles) I just started doing it a couple days ago but so far so good. ;-)
