Go to cobkits and all the info you seek is there. And citizens are good cobs. i built a bar of 4ks and they work great.

The model of your driver? And the answer is probably yes, BUT you'll notice from the info about 1212s the voltage across the cob can vary +/- 8% of so and the would be "in spec." So if you had 2 of them and one was toward the high side and the other towards the low side, you could have significantly different current through each of the 1212s. Just be mindful of that when you fire them up. Hopefully you have a current meter and could check each one.

Go to Citizen Electronics website and download the citizen calculator. once you have it then you can input you specific cob and driver and it will give you an idea of what you will be running the citizen cobs at. The calculator looks like this.

I think it is not the best. It is not the top 3500 k of the citi line. This one has lower output then the normal one. The normal 3500k efficacy 152l/W, but the one you orderded is 119 L/W.

The chip you bought is under BBL and i would advise getting the same chips in 3000k and 4000k from the same seller on ebay since they are the normal version. I really hope you are in time to change the chips and maybe otherwise you can trade them in?

Here are the datasheets so you can compare yourself:
Normal version(M2K1) - http://ce.citizen.co.jp/lighting_led/dl_data/datasheet/en/COB_5/CLU048-1212C4_P3700_0516.pdf
Under BBL (H6K2) - http://ce.citizen.co.jp/lighting_led/dl_data/datasheet/en/COB_5/CLU048-1212C4_P3551_0216.pdf

They will be fine. I have done enough testing on different CRI's with minimal difference, including lab test on one run. The biggest difference I seen is cooler temps (4000k) if you need less stretch and warmer temps if you need more stretch.

Hello all.

I am a long time lurker first time poster.

I have decided to jump in and do a COB build.

I am looking to put 9 Cobs in a 1m by 1m tent or 3x3.

Hello all, long time lurker first time poster.

I am diving into COB as I am not impressed with my Mars II.

I am running a 3x3 and would like to run 6 cobs and eventually add 3 more.

Here is what I am looking at;

https://cobkits.com/product/meanwell-hlg-185h-48a-driver/ x 2
Two of these should work fine for 3 1818@ 75.3W each (226W max)

https://cobkits.com/product/citizen-clu048-1818-80cri-choice-of-color-temps/
3 x 3500 and 3 x 4000.

Holders and all of that are easily found. I am curious if you all think this is a decent setup. I would like the ability to upgrade cobs down the road without changing drivers if that is possible.

The big issue for me right now is finding heatsinks for these. I do not want to run fans so I am looking for passive.

Looking forward to feedback.

Thanks
