lol melt it together.. i hate pex, my only real insurance claim was from a pex fitting, a 3/4" coupling. i guess the fitting was bad. house was a flip house, so noone was home, but the guy called me cracking it, he said he seen water coming down the road when he pulled up the next day. a 3/4" inch pipe just pouring water all night is a lot of water lol.. 39k in damage. amazed he still calls me, hes one of my best customers.

Oh shit, no I meant a copper to pex sweat on fitting. I started out doing copper but with our freezing winters pex has proven it's value. Not my favorite, but Ive found it convenient when remodeling too. Was that a plastic coupling that failed ?

thats funny. i also do masonry on the side, only been doing it for the past like 5 months though. love it though. lots of money to be made in it and i love doing stone work. something about bashing a stone into shape with a 4 pound hammer is a lot of fun. i typically charge 95/hr for plumbing but some areas around here see my price and think its too cheap so they think im not good enough or something. so i bump it up to around 150 so they feel right lol
Damn bro, $150 an hour?that must be in the high rent district.I agree with your dislike on the pex.it's a bit of an excuse to do messy work

yeah with a crimp ring.. the fitting blew out in the middle. insurance company tried to get me to go after the maker. but id get wrecked probably. pex does has its value though for winters. my garage and everything outside is pex. because it expands instead of just splitting.

yeah pretty much. i like copper more than pex for my own reasons. the claim is one of them. but i like that copper is straight lol. i hate how pex is all coiled up on a roll. annoying to straighten and measure long runs, and it just looks cheap. when i use it i use the white pex. not the red and blue, they look like shit. copper looks the best when its new. when someone pays you that much to do the work, its nice to give them something pretty to look at

Yeah, I've seen the plastic ones, but dont trust them. Never had a brass one fail (fingers crossed) a licensed plumber here is required to carry 2 million in liability insurance.
Step daddy turned me on to using the ten foot sticks rather than rolls for straightness and ease:-)

yeah i like the sticks, but if you need a long run.. for example, a basement to a second floor, doesnt work for me.
lol my area is 3 million. fucking nuts, but some of the houses around here are insane. ive definitely worked in places that if i destroyed it, id be way over my limit and lose everything

True, another thing your probably know is the inside diameter of a 1\2" pex fitting is only 3/8" :-|
