i have some cfls that have ran for quite a few hours..18/6 for a few months and now around 20/4. is it normal for them to get hot? they arent burning my plants, im just concerned with any hazards..is it normal for them to get hot after a full grow? im not growing mmj btw.

let me know if they arent supose to get how after being used for that long. and if it could be hazardous as in fire/electric problems.

Yes, CFLs get hot. They don't get as hot as an HID, but they do produce heat, especially as they get older. If anything happens, the bulb will just die out normally like an incandescent. You're most likely clear from any problems, if you remain concerned then invest in a replacement.

Yes CFLs can get 90+ degrees. But many people run them 24/7 fine with no problem Just keep a fan blowing on everything.

Another good idea id to write the date on the bulb (when new) and just replace them after a year or whatever. I personally would use them till they burnout.
