the bulbs themselves say the actual wattage on the base, only the package says the equivalent because people are to damn retarded and think oh this bulb is only 23 watts thats going to be dim as hell when in fact 23w is equivalent to a 100w incandescent

not the same questions, i don't know anything about lights, everytime i get an answer it raises another qeustion.
i read guides but i just cant get the details. also i have been changing my mind alot about how to go about it, and i want to arm myself with knowledge before i make a decision.also its better split qeustions than group them together, that way ppl have better access to quick and simple answers.

Heres a basic layout for lights
HPS and MH:
1000w- 8'x8' to 10'x10' area
600w- 6'x6' to 8'x8' area
400w- 4'x4' to 6'x6' area
250w- 2'x2' to 3'x3' area
150w- 1'x1' to 2'x2' area
100w- 1'x1' only

CFL to be equivalent to 250w hid:
150w per square foot for veg
300w per square foot for flower

Flouro tubes and induction flouro:
Not to sure on need other input from flouro tube growers for this one

LED:
Each panel has its own area coverage so cant give those numbers
240w LED = 250w HID
300w LED = 400w HID
500w LED = 600w HID

Plasma:
1000w- 4'x4' area (i think 1000w is the only size out right now)

Lights you should not use:
Incandescent
Mercury Vapor
Xenon

well dont go cfl look at t5 hps or mh i did say that to u in my last post
i remember, but i need something without too much heat, on the other hand i dont want to buy a bunch of reflective clamps. i have to wait till next paycheck to get a high power light, lets just say there are alot of factors, and would be dumb to just jump to something, especially since i dont know wat im dooing with indoor grows. but these are different questions, i need to know about CFL's, otherwise i would of asked what is the best light, ppl have different situations. now im just researching.

actually i should correct myself with the mercury vapor it should not be used as the primary light to grow and only should be used in a large grow space as they give off an extreme amount of heat, but they can benefit at the end of flower because they give off a good bit of UVB light which will promote trichome production
