CFL reflector flood

What's the feedback among you cfl guru's regarding the cfl floodlights with a built-in reflector? How do they compare to a regular spiral in a basic clamp reflector?

I would like to add a couple cfl's to each side of my fluoro hood (veg) and my HPS cooltube (flower).

Way to much money for no benefits, plus mine 26w CFL gives 1600 lumens compared to 1200 on that bulb, and I got 2 for $7.

There are many different bulbs like this on the market, so I assume that you could find one with similar lumen output, but you're right about the price difference. Only reason I am considering them is the space it would save and I wouldn't need to get more reflectors. I was also concerned about the heat they may generate within that closed shell.

Might still try them but when it comes down to it the price difference will probably make me change my mind.

23w 5000K are available from my distibutor for $13.99 CAD (in stock, no minimum purchase requirement). They are the most efficient too! 26w 2700K for flowering are also available for about the same price from the local big-box store.

Also, the T4 tubes inside have higher intensity than the T5 used in linear setups, and the reflector is precisely positioned for optimal reflection.

The output of a non-reflector CFL is measured using an integrating sphere, it is measured BEFORE reflector losses.

The light output of a reflector CFL is measured AFTER reflection, and is a true measure of how much light will actually arrive at the target surface. Its not likely a hand-assembled external reflector will beat the optical perfection of an integrated one.
