I have heard bad things about CFL bud's potency. Is it less potent than other indoor or outdoor bud?

Thanks,:leaf:

CFLS can grow some really good bud, don't let the MH/HPS lovers fool ya, but they are not going to be putting out near as much light as other types of bulbs, but for a small grow, with some good genetics and some good love/care, you can produce some very potent pot, just not always as high in quantity/density as with other types of lights

potency is solely in the genetics of the plant, not in the lights.

however, yield will vary with lighting.

CFLs still make some fatty buds, they are just less penetrative than a HPS/MH would be

Well, the sun has to produce more cannabinoids than cfls, it can't just be genetic? Does anyone know how well cfl's create cannabinoids?

CFLs produce the same quality bud, plain and simple. You can also have nice yields with cfls, its just not as easy as using an HPS. But the bud is the same, its in the genetics and growing environment.

i believe CFLs are better for Vegetative. and HPS probably increase the THC levels slightly and penetrate deeper into the foliage to create denser nuggs.

HPS and MH lights that produce more than 16000 lumens will give you twice the yield and will give you better quality dense nugs to roll in while you drool all over yourself then you get the extreme cotton mouth lol. Trust me ive used floros, incandescents and cfls and nothing compares to a 400 watt HPS fixture. Even a MH set up is twice as better than cfls. The light spectrum and temp of your light is very important to consider if you want to be serious about growin good weed. But overall cfls and floros will give you better results than a grow by the sun lit window.
The only thing that affects the potency of your bud is if its male of female and if the plant was mature enough at reaping time.

^^^ smppro has stated the truth. It has been said that CFL bud may actually be a bit MORE potent due to a more even balanced spectrum. CFL spectrum is close to combining HPS & MH. They just lack the intensity and therefore yield. If growing for personal stash, yields aren't that big of a deal to some. HPS lacks blue light. CMH might actualy be better than them all in terms of potency. All that being said, it really is more about genetics than anything. Try growing hemp under HPS and see how potent it is.
