taht is just a bie opinion i am not saying this as an insult you just need to elaborate on your somment
leds are one of the greatest lighting systems to this day ..
they show their power during the vegatative growth stage
but they seem to lose their magic during the flowering stage.
if you are going to use them for seedlings and clones go right ahed.
but at this point you will be diappointed by their floweing poteneial

As far as value for your dollar, CFLs by a mile. But I reccommend getting a Hps/MH, blows them both out of the water.

whicth one is better cfl or led lights?
MH/HPS is the best but CFL is better than LED
Simple question, simple answer. OP didnt ask for a scientific explaination.

Your statement does nothing but increase the fact that LED's, right now, are a total waste of money for the results they produce.

well thanks for your insite but they are great when it comes to vegatative growth which cuts the cost of your longest photoperiod.

I will also point out once again you are wrong. Most ppl on here have a photo period of 18/6 for far less time then they should. I would say the average time (on here) is less than 30 days. I would say the same for flower at 9 weeks.

30 days x 18hrs = 540 hrs of light during veg
63 days x 12hrs = 756 hrs of light during flowering

Even if you did 24hrs of light during veg it would still be less. My last flowering period was over 100 days! (sativa grow). For the price of LED's and the multiple units you need, it IS NOT close to being cost effective. If your pockets are that deep, then go right ahead.

Hopefully some day we can benefit from the effectivness of LED's but the price of them is far far to $$$ for the results.

cfl but i never used anything else
and also led cost to much there cheaply made and cost way to much
my reach on leds are they are = to cfls in every way

a 1000 act. watt led will produce as much heat as a 1000 act. watt cfl
a 1000 act. watt led will veg and flower as a 1000 act. watt cfl
a 1000 act. watt led will consume as much energy as a 1000 act. watt cfl

one is just going to cost too much
and the led setup in going to take up to much space
wait til the price come down and they start useing the 5w leds to make them
