CFL Lumen Flower Question

I am back yet again....with another question....I have everything pretty much ready to go.....My homemade panda/pvc room (18 sqf)...Veg lights...Nirvana seeds...Bubbleponic systems.. I have been doing alot of research. I am trying to do this to the best of my ability ($/knowledge) lol..... So in the research I have done...I see that 3,000 lumens per square foot is ok for veg (54,000 for my sqf) ....But 10,000 lumens per square foot for flower(180,000 for my sqf)??? Is this correct??? If so wow thats alot of lumens!!!! And I need to apparently rethink this strategy...........Any thoughts or advice?

you can flower plants under almost any quantity of light but a tripiling of lumens in flowerin for optimum results is normal. I grew with cfls on my last grow and there was about 60000 lumens over 5 plants in flowering which worked out very well. The problem with cfl's in flowering is that the light doesn't penetrate very well so side lighting is essential and techniques such as lst and topping helps. I used a good technique to increase yeild whichh i read about in a jorge cervantes book where you switch your plants to 12/12 for 2-3 weeks and then bump them back up to 13/11 , it will take longer to flower , for us about a extra 8 days on our strains but the yeild did seem to be significantly larger. My main peice of advice is to invest in large cfl's that produce the bulk of the light for your plants and then supplement them with many smaller cfls
