most of the 125 watters ive seen require a mogul base and ballast to it...if you found a 125 watt that screws into a medium (standard) socket...ffs let me know where...most lights will have 2 power readings...the light output..and the incandescent output.it might say it puts out 125 watts...but it could really only be using 45 true watts....its tricked me a few times now.id look the bulb up online and see if you can find some specs on it.....and as it comes to seedlings....they can sprout with no light at all...its that first 2-3 weeks of its seedling phase that matters.so even with almost no light on a sprout...it will still grow...but will start to slow down dramaticly if its not getting the spectrum and lumens it needs

for example...im using 4 of these right now...3 are 2700k and 1 is 6500k....i just ordered 2 more 6500k's for veg on my next batch...but this is the specs it gives me on its website.....

Buy what you are comfortable with, but as any grower will tell you, during a first grow people tend to buy any and everything, and usually wind up spending way more than they have to on things that they could have saved on. As you start to grow more and more, you will fall into your own comfort zone and start to "weed" out the unnecessary or frivilous.
