yea you can use simple store bought cfl's from home depot for the veg cycle just look for the highest wattage they have and get two especially if they are under 40w. then during the flowering cycle get a few more cause its gonna need more light but other than that all you need are clamp lamps i'd get the 8 inchers from wal mart cause thy have longer cords

Good Luck!

this is what you use, if in a small space.

2 26w "Daylight-blue" lights on a y splitter with a $9 work light hood for veg and then for flowering use 3-4 lights 26w warm-red lights with y splitters, that's it

It depends on what u want to get out of the grow and what strain you are growing. Some have longer cycles.

From what I'm learning with my 1st cfl grow, the more lumens the better but u dont have to spend a ton of money for 1 or 2 plants. Patience is key, too. The longer the veg. the bigger the plants. The same with the light. THE MORE, THE MERRIER!!!!

I started the first 6 weeks vegging with (2) 100 w. daylight with aluminum reflectors that increase by 50% for 2 ladies. I have since added a couple more cuz I will probly be flowering in a couple weeks. GET THE REFLECTORS!!! They are a huge, cheap, effective asset.

I have an indica strain, so my total time will be like 60-80 days more once I change they're light to 12/12...I believe and a few weeks longer for sativa strains. heres my cfl babies!! 6 and 7 weeks from germ.

:leaf:GOOD LUCK and keep updated!:leaf:

Color Temperature (CT) - Color temperature, which is measured in Kelvin, indicates whether a lamp has a warm, midrange or cool color appearance. "Warm" light sources have a low color temperature (2000-3000K) and feature more light in the red/orange/yellow range. Light with a higher color temperature (>5000K) features more blue light and is referred to as "cool."

If its still alive throw it back into 24 hr light. It will take it awhile but it could kick back and grow again. I never had any luck doing it. I just pull them and start again.

so do males produce any bud at all and if it is a male one of the seeds on there would have to be a female right its for my personal use so i dont care if its seedy as long as it has buds

OK...I am a newbie but I Do know that Males are not good. If you have only 1 plant and it is male, you will have nothing but THC free pollen sacs. If you have a female near it, she will be pollinated and then produce seeds, Severely reducing your quality. Unless you want males specifically for helping w/ seed production, they are useless and will ruin your ladies.

Try to germinate a few seeds to increase your chances of scorin a lady. I hope that helped. Good Luck!

OK so i now got 3 23watt cfl 2700k and 1 20watt cfl 6500k for a total of 5950 lumen's and 3 y splitters so they can all go in 1 socket all on 1 plant in a cab 24"H-18"d-18"W with Mylar inside what do you think?

stick with the 65k for veg you might get 3 or 4 of the 20w's. I had 3 42w 27k + 1 85w 65k and 1 4ft tube set. under 24hr light they started to flower.

Stumps is right. Go with the 6500k for vegging. I guess its good to combine color temps., but u need more (blues)...6500ks for veg. and the 2700ks (more reds) for flowering. (daylights)-veg. (soft or warm)-flowering

the more you have the better I shoot for 300w of light min with the cfl's. so the 42w=150x3=450w. The cfl's need to be no more then a few inch's off the top of the plant(s). don't let the plants touch the light if you get higher watt lights they will burn your plant.
