lgot 4 himalaya golds about 4 weeks in and there doin nice i think atleast lo the pictures are kinda mixed up just look at em i think youll figure out oldest to newest any questions feel free to ask or wahtever wanna hate go for it not gonna change my day
i was a little under the influence when i posted lol but ya i meant to put if anyone is intersted in details ill post if not its a lot of typing for nothing you know? just figured id share my grow with other people who share a love for this amazing plant
ill post a pic of that in a few days cuz its at a buddys house he knows what hes doin i just cant get there everyday i pretty much paid for everything and taught him how to do everything its the third grow we have done this year and its goin good i got some co2 in there too
They look nice but I have to ask, why (and when I ask this its more of a general why to all those I have seen do this, as you are by no means the only one) are you vegging under 2700k?
Why not at least augment them each with something in the blue spectrum? I think you'll greatly enhance your plant mass and speed things up in general with a nice multi-spectrum.
They can be quite cheap if you can get them locally (I just bought a 4 pack of 23w 5000k CFLs at Home Depot for just under $11)
One thing I forgot to mention they have been in 12/12 for one week now. You are right though I should have done that idk why I didnt think about that. I honestly just didnt think about that. Next grow i will be doing that. Which ones would be the best in the blue spectrum for cfls? Like are the ones you suggested good for the whole vegging period? Are there any stronger?
You can get strong Blue's online if you want to order them otherwise you'll be restricted to what you can find locally, which in my experience is usually 23w (100w incandescent equivalent) strongest. What I would do if I were you is go to home depot, get the lights I am referring to, and buy as many bulbs as you already have, 1-1. So if you are using 16 bulbs to flower, buy 16 to veg. Just use the vegging during vegging and the red flowering bulbs you already have for when its time to flower. You will be amazed at the results. This is all intended as planning for your next grow, as obviously you're good on lighting to flower with already.
I personally use a combination of (2) 105w 5000k's, (1) 125w 6500k, and (4) 23w 5000k's. Works great for me, but the 105 and 125w bulbs are like $36 each. So Unless you wanna spend a lot more money, just stick with the cheap guys from home depot, just use a lot.
hope that helps.
OH and BTW, are those some MYCO bags I see colonizing in there alongside your ladies?? I dabble in mushroom cultivation myself
Alright well thanks I think ill probably . The home depot way cuz 36 a bulb is a lil much but I mean you get what you pay for right? Lol. And within the next week or two i hope too have twenty in total 4 for side lighting. And good eye yes they are myco bags I cant say I made them myself but I am going to be growing some reishi mushroons within the next few weeks after the holidays are done and things settle down probably gonna do some more magical varieties too lol. Those bags I got from myco2air and they work awesome I got two for free from them and used them for my ghost peppers im growing and my ghost peppers are doing amazing I have my first three peppers about ripe
Aren't you worried about the stretching and lack of penetration leading to large dark spots on your plants? Spots that would certainly like more light and in return give you more bud!
Just a considering but on each of those plants there is a solid 4 or so inches of plant not getting enough light. You've got plenty of light in there, but with it all focused up at the top you're really not benefiting from the CFL's as much as you could by getting some more of those bulbs around all the plants.
I actually am worried lol tgey started just shootin up after the first week in flowering I mean two more side lights are gonna be added soon but ya idk I don't like that they stretched at all but I guess well see what happens. Idk what else to do really
Do you have a means to lower one or 2 of your hanging fixtures? If so you could bring one of them down, put 2 bulbs on it, also moving your plants into a square would get more light to all of them then that spread out line.
Things to consider mate. Every experiment produces results
Lookin' forward to see what you do.
Sure man, I don't mean to tell you how to run your shit, but you definitely have enough bulbs and great plants that if you made a few changes you could very easily increase your potential yield.
Get some more lamps, or hanging lamps, move some y splitters around and make a bit of a cage going around your plants and you'll see all those smaller budsites grow.
What I might do is this:
P L P
L L L
P L P
P= plant
L= lights
then just have what is left hanging over your girls still.
My thoughts anyway. You know what your options are better then I But good luck, some really great gals you've got there.
For future reference this was my 420th post on RIU! WOOT TOKE, TOKE, TOKE IT UP!
I know what you mean and im definitly gonna rethink my options and I like the idea of a cage around it with light my buddy who has them at his house had a similar idea ill talk with him and we'll figure it out. And nice!!! Lol im glad your 420th post could be on my thread thats awesome!!!!!!
