What is a good time to switch over to flowering. I am about a month old.
it depends on how big you want the plant to get because you can keep a plant vegging for years aka mother but depending on how much room you have trade over to 12/12 when the plants are like half or a lil over half of the ending height you want them at because when you flower them they will increase in size while budding.

good luck man those pics look great! if you dont mind me asking what strain r u growin

How long for veg is completely up to you but usually dictated by the conditions of your grow room.

Keep in mind that when you switch to flowering, your plant will continue to grow in height. Some strains grow up to 140% taller than the day you switched to 12/12 (of course, you can always bend you plants to keep height from becoming a problem). The best thing to do is work backwards from your height limitations. Don't forget to take in your light and the space between the bulb and top of the plant. If you're room is eight feet high and your bulb is at 7 feet then you would need at least another 12 inches to keep away from the top of the plants.

This would be six feet in this example. If your strain grows 100% taller when switched to flowering then you would want to switch when your plant reaches 3 feet (don't forget to condsider the size of the pot you're growing in).

If you find that you've miscalculated and the plants have grown too tall and getting burned by the light then you can simply bend your plant.

Of course, if you are trying to decrease your time from start to harvest then you can put your plant in flowering earlier. Just remember that a plant needs time to mature before it will sex and go into flowering. If you put it in flowering before it's ready, no worries...you'll just be waiting until the plant is ready in 12/12. In other words, just because you put a plant in flowering early does not mean you'll neccessarily save time.

I hope this helps. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to PM. If not, Merry Christmas.
