Hey it looks like you have soft white bulbs(2700-3000), you might wanna veg with daylight(5500-6500).
Transplant to pots with Drainage asap... water will build up in bottom and soil never dry, its bad for roots. Do that whenever you want

I'm planning on starting 3-4 seeds on 6 26W daylight CFLs at about 2 inches away, will that work?

yeah, they say Daylight, Softwhite, Cool White, Warm white, Brite White, etc, and or will show the kelvin rating temp

I can find both daylight and cool white at all stores, even City Market.
But in stores i can only find the Daylight in 27w bulbs, whereas Soft white has 42w bulbs pretty much everywhere.

use 1000bulbs.com if you wanna use internet to get bulbs

the lower watt ones(13-27) are spiral

the 100-200 watt ones are usually strait, but recognizable.

but...i can get daylight bulbs at the stores you said> and that's what you are recommending for the first stage?..daylights CFL at "5500-6500"... what is this..lumens?which is what..like the 15 or 20 wat CFL?

yes daylight and soft white are both in stores. soft white is extremely close to warm light, so they are practically interchangable.

Here, i'll explain it a little better.

Every bulb has a Tempeture(in Kelvin), Lumens, and Wattage.

The tempeture will determine the spectrum, goes from 2500 to 6500 (approx..)
Lumens is the actual light output that the bulb does, higher lumens means more light output.
Then the wattage determines how much energy is used.

For Veggy state, use around the 6500 temp area, which is the Daylight spectrum

then for Flowering state, use mainly around 3000 temp area, which is the Warm White spectrum, or Soft white works very well too. Also use some daylight in there if you want, use maybe a 4:1 ratio of Warm white to Daylight.

just remmeber that Temp and Lumens are different, Lumens are always labeled.. If the spectrum is not labled then assume its around Soft white(3,000 temp)

Whoa..Nice!

"The tempeture will determine the spectrum, goes from 2500 to 6500 (approx..)"

and you said for "veggie state, usearond 6500 temp area, which is the daylight spectrum."

so for veggie..i'm using a DAYLIGHT CFl which i understand now. but keeping it 6500 temp?..what? how? does the temperture of the BULB..or Kalvins..are they listed on the bulbs package?? i'm going to lowes today and buys stuff.. i'll take pics.

i mean use a bulb thats around the 6500 area, the best choice is the Daylight spectrum 6500, but you can use variations of that temp is what i meant.

a bulb dosnt change (kelven)(spectrum)

AAhh,.... i got you.

Daylight at 6500 then switch to a warm white...

the basic rules of "weed needs this many lumens"...still apply right?

I wouldnt really go by any mathimatical formula...

Go by what you have.. and what you want.

If you have reflectors you can make... mylar u can find... potatoe chip bags....

Just start off with with a few lights and keep them really close to plant... like a inch and half away.

Then when the plant gets bigger, place them around so that its covered.

Ive seen dank bud grown with 1 cfl... its up to you!

Oh..lol.
A daylight 27 w isn't enough? or will i just need more?
in which case..why not use a soft white?

well for my setup, i rigged up this 3 Fixture light from walmart for 7 bucks. It has 3 light sockets, and i put 3 of these Y splitters in them, so 6 lights total. I just use the 27w 6500kelvin ones for now, untill i make a internet purchase.

They are fine, maybe some pics of your setup/plant will help me help you.

Its pretty hard to fuck up growing a weed plant, which is a good thing :D

Man. i'm just lucky weed isn't my kid... I would have drowned all 4 of them in a tub.

imma work on pics tonight......

Color-Measurement

Check that link out...

Does watts directly affect the Kalvins? duh?

imma just copping a couple daylight CFL..and i'm looking for temperture to be as close to that 6500 as possible..

but more than likely..when i go to the store i'm going to find these 27k Daylights and warm white bulbs right..
