the hashplant haze is an awesome strain. very fast growing, forgiving, and responds very well to topping/fim/lst and trimming.

it stinks a ton! nice fresh/lemony kind of smell. rubs off on your fingers after handling it and you can smell it on your fingers when they arent even near your face. very fast growing strain too.

hello all, hope you all have had a good first full week of 2010!

plants are looking great, had a little mishap with some ph problems.

remember when i said i ran out of distilled water and decided to use my city tap water?

baaadd idea...the ganesh didnt seem harmed by it except for a lil bit of slow growth.

the hashplant haze on the other hand developed black/brown spots and yellowing on older fan leaves because the ph problem caused a magnesium lockout.

but dont be alarmed! i ran down to wally world as soon as this started happening and grabbed some distilled water and mixed some molasses into one of the gallon jugs to help supplement more calcium and magnesium.

hph bounced back and is looking a lot healthier followed with a super fast growth spurt.

i did some foliar feedings on all three seeing as there was some nute lockouts i figured i could dilute a solution and mist em; guess it worked.

this week ive also be doing a little LSTing on the plants to help get more light to the lower canopy. the hph responded the fastest and best to the lst and basically within a few hours it had 11 protruding tops overlapping the fan leaves.

the ganesh definitely loved it too.

i attached some root pics, hope they came out good, just of the bottom of the 2L/3L they are in.

pics are as follows.

1 = top of g1
2 = side of g1 you can see the pipe cleaners i used for lst
3 = bottom of the "pot" crazy root structure

4 = top of g2
5 = lst of g2
6 = root structure

7 = top(s) of hph
8 = tied down
9 = strongest root structure of the 3

thanks for stopping by and happy growing! :leaf:

welcome to the beginning of week 4!

i have had some startling discoveries:

g1 is a female

and
g2 is possibly male :cuss:

i have heard of plants showing sex during week 4 but i didnt think it would happen under a 24 hour light cycle

the hph has no signs of sex yet, its the biggest plant in the smaller of the pots.

i only found 1 female calyx on g1 and i tried to get a pic of it but my camera is horrible, even on manual settings.

i think i can see the beginning of bawls on g2, very very small but it is starting to resemble those male characteristics.

i do have one problem though: my flowering room isnt going to be ready for these puppies yet, i have 3 plants in there at the moment and i wanted to wait till the end of the month/beginning of feb. to start flowering these.

does anyone think that this will negatively affect the plants if they are veg'd 4 weeks longer? i know i should transplant them but the only other pots i have for them are the flowering pots and they are way to big to fit in the veg cabinet.

any advice/tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated!

i also trimmed all the dead/dying left over material on the hph from the tap water dispute.

also who thinks i should grow out the possible male g2 and breed it with the hph?

i ordered a 400w hps from htg supply:

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=47929

once i receive this i am going to instantly toss the ganesh and the hashplant haze into the flowering room with my other 3 almost done sativa bagseeds. i hate how long they take, but sativas are totally worth it.

i put 2 more ganesh seeds into party cups with some saran wrap to keep humidity up.

i also have 2 hph clones; one doesn't look so good, didn't know you were supposed to change the water every 24hrs:dunce:.
the other hph clone i have in a bubble cloner and its doing awesome, haven't checked for roots yet but its been in there for 3 days now.

both ganesh clones from g1 and g2 are still pretty green but no root growth as of yet :wall:.

before i put the ganesh into the flowering room i am probably going to take a clone off of it to secure a female.

sorry i have been slacking on the updates all, ive been in 2 car accidents within the past month due to people sliding into me because of weather conditions, to drunk teenagers smashing into my rear bumper because they were surprised how "poppin" kohls was...

so i am going to be keeping these gals in the veg closet until my 400w hps arrives; hopefully it wont put too much stress onto them.

i went to wally world and bought 2 20L(5ish gallons?) rubbermaid trashcans for like 2 bucks a pop.

the day the hps arrives i will be putting them into flowering and give an update then.

ive stopped veg nutes and just watering with distilled water.

i figured out that a lot of the brownish stains on the leaves is from my diy co2. both ganesh have very large tops; as i said before there is a calyx with 2 white hairs on one plant and possible balls on G1.

the 2 ganesh seeds i just planted on friday have broken soil but still have the shells ontop.

my 3 clones that i took 1 from each plant arent looking like they are doing too well so i am not going to become attached to them.

my hashplant haze clone is in my diy bubble cloner and has only been in for 5 days so far and no roots yet.

pic 1+2 are g1 possible male
pic 3+4 are g2 female
pic 5+6 are hph
pic 7 is my bubble cloner
pic 8 is the clone

Your HPH looks a lil stressed out, hence the purple stems, sucks about the lockout. what are you feeding those girls and how much? Good job though and i love the LST job! I also have a hash plant haze, i love the smell! I'll keep checking back!

yeah i stressed em out a little, kept them in smaller pots for too long. luckily yesterday i went to the nursery and picked up 2 bags of promix and a 2 5 gallon trash cans, and placed both the hph and g2 into these new pots.

for veg i was using miracle grow 24-8-16 dissolved in distilled water with a small amount of molasses for micro nutes.

my hph loved to be fimmed and lst. i am hoping to keep it in the current lst position for flowering so i can get maximum coverage under the hps.

i cloned my hph, loved the pheno. how old is yours? whats your grow setup?

thanks for stopping by and happy growing:leaf:

My HPH is prob like 4 weeks old. I just started flowering it like 2 days ago, Normally i would veg longer but im moving and i have 3 other plants in flower so i should have a decent harvest. Here's a pic before i threw it into 12/12.

I give my lady's Rainbow mix grow 5-5-2 for veg, and i use Fox Farms Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, and Cha Ching for flowering.

ok so as i promised i am posting an update since i have finally received my 400w hps from HTG Supply.

Sadly they were out of the product I ordered, so they upgraded the whole light kit to an AgroMax one.

the ganesh and hph have been on a 12/12 schedule for about 2 days now and this is their first under the 400w hps.

i have 2 other plants in the room with them, 1 bagseed that is turning purple (tall one), and a party cup bagseed grow that smells like fruit stripe gum.

pic 1 is the room
pic 2 is the hph
pic 3 is g1(potential male)
pic 4 is g2(potential female)

Well i vegged under a 105watt full spectrum CFL, and 3 18" T5's, also 2 23watt cfl's. I have them all in a veg box with an exhaust fan and an intake fan. I swapped the cfl's with 2700K bulbs for flowering. I would have put the HPH in my flowring room but its full right now, i currently have 1 RockLock fem that is a enormous bush! Its under a 250w hps with 2 150w hps's. I didnt expect the RockLock to get soooo big. I'll keep you updated on how my HPH goes. Throw in a small pic of the RockLock so you can take a peek. I'll be watching to see how your lady's turn out as well. :bigjoint:

hi all, sorry for the lack in updates.

today is the 2nd day of week 2 for the hph and g2.

the ganesh showed pistils on day 3 of flower.
hph showed on day 5.

ive fed them only a mixture of veg and flower nutes at a very low dosage, along with molasses.

veg nutes = 24-8-16
flower nutes = 15-30-15 for the first 4 weeks then = 9-59-8

the hph is 13 inches tall with 10 tall tops and 2 small ones

g2 is 10 inches with 12 tall tops and 1 small one.

i moved my grow space to a bigger closet, added a fan and keeping temps between 74-82 with light on, 68-72 with lights off.

i added 3 43w 2700k CFLs, 2 sharing a y-socket on my other flowering plant: bagseed that went purple and smells extremely sour.

the other 43w is in between my purple bagseed and the ganesh and my party cup grow.

i also added a 26w 2700k cfl to supplement both the hph and ganesh with lower side lighting.

i was going to add 6500k cfls but my 400w hps apparently has 30% more blue spectrum and figured that was enough.

first 2 pics are the HPH
second 2 are Ganesh
last pic is the new setup.

Looking good Clasonde!!!! I would use your flowering fert thats 9-59-8 before the 4th week of flowering, def wanna get some more phosphurus in those babie's, just a suggestion. Also no i havent grown RockLock before, this would be my first time. I like it so far, although it did grow alot larger than i thought it would. I'll keep you updated so you can see the buds form. Keep up the good work on your lady's and i'll check back in!
