CFL fixture question with pics

I am looking at getting a few CFLs. I was wondering if i could buy this bulb and then buy a fixture from home depot and be fine? Or will that not be strong enough and i have to buy this 85 dollar one? I can worry about reflecting it in the right direction for less than 85 dollars

I'd recommend you drop by Lowe's / Home Depot and spend $7.00 on a bottle lamp kit. Basically it'll come with an insulated electrical cord with two bare wire tips and the light bulb socket. You'll just need 2 minutes and a phillips screwdriver to set it up. I'm running multiple high wattage CFL's through these with no difficulty. I'd say just give it a try and worst case scenario you waste $7.00.

Here's a link:

^^^^^ That sounds good, I too use the $7 wire and socket kit and a few splitters to run all my cfls.

i think if u buy a blue red purple one you'll be a good cfl grower and u will use 300 watt energy light out of those 375 watts ! Plus u save money, but i havnt seens massive yields like with hps. u could sell half of that and still have enough to do the whole thing again with that half...

your choice... I'm just experimenting atm. I think i will get rid of the cfl's !
