CBD Strains???

I've been hearing more and more about high CBD low THC strains. These are supposed to provide more of the pain releiving effects w/ less of the euphoria. These may be ideal for some patients I know. I was wondering if anyone has any experience w/ any of these strains or knows where I can get genetics of them? Thanks in advance.

Here is an article I found interesting on the subject:http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/medical-cannabis-first-unveiling-of-new-strain-to-redefine-the-medical-cannabis-industry-90248772.html

I know a quick and easy recipe for medibles that are loaded with CBD.

Save up a 1/2 oz of volcano material and you can get between 8-10 individual pieces of the best brownies you will ever have.

And yes, CBD's are good for muscle spasms, it also has HUGE sedative properties.

I know there are recipes for things you can make with high CBD content, but what if you made these w/ product containing CBD levels up to 10 times that of most strains? That is why I would like to get feedback/info on these high CBD strains. Thanks

some seed banks will list CBD content of their strains when tested but it seems it doesn't really have much variation on these sites..

:mrgreen:Thats why I got some Violator Kush seeds for my next grow. From what I've read, it sounds like a good strain for pain, but it does not have the low THC you were looking for. I don't know of any strains that list the CNB % and have low THC, all are pretty high ( gee, whata shame.LOL. ) . Barneys is good place to look, have a stoney one and good luck to ya. :peace:

I dont think you can have HIGH CBD without having HIGH THC - they are closely linked, I really think that is a big myth that people perpetuate

The ratios of CBD to CBN to THC, and several others(technically all), will vary depending on genotype and also eviromental conditions. I've heard there are tricks out there that will tweak the ratios one way or another, depending on what your looking for, but none have been verified by our testing.

What about the whole thing of letting the flowers ripen more for more amber trichomes to produce more of a 'body' high... does that relate to amounts of CBD at all?

I don't know but I believe for the most part it is dependant on the strain.

and Mr Bricktop, I have read that article and others and also watched some news reports, but I think it is if anything more or less snake oil, we have yet to see this mystical CBD heavy strain come to surface it seems to be for the most part just talk and from a sales person at that, and this talk has been going on for quite some time, maybe it is true but I just have a hard time beleiving it. I watched some interviews with people claiming that they only smoke this new strain and they looked, spoke, and moved as if they were very stoned..

Harlequin is a strain that was recently featured by Dragonfly De La Luz in the "West Coast Cannabis" magazine. It has been tested to contain 7% CBD(cannabidiol) and 7% THC, but has been reported to contain as high as 11.9% CBD. This sativa dominant strain, due to its high CBD content, is an ideal therapeutic and medicinal strain and delivers a high that is non-psychoactive. The perfect strain for someone who wants to dull the pain and feel good without the anxiety, paranoia, and other psychoactive side effects that accompany many highs.
