CBD strain buds Vs. retail CBD tinctures

Okay, so recently I finally got my hands on some CBD dominant strain Canna-Tsu! and happily added the same amount of my usual high THC buds and then proceeded with a QWET extraction as per usual...

The resulting concentrate is pretty much the best thing ever, lol, no joke. The euphoric & positive, energetic feeling is something I can only compare to a really mild & smooth dosing of MDMA. It's amazing really and I'm totally clear headed as well. My crohn's related pains are non-existent and I'm even noticing other bodily functions improving and I'm always hungy lol...

My question, however is why did I not get these same results when using the retail VidalV CBD tincture I think it was called? Since I would always take 2 full droppers before a dab session with my THC extract and the dispense I bought it from recommended 1 or 1 and 1/2 droppers. I think he was kinda uneducated in all things CBD but they were nice enough. Still, I didn't have the results I'm having with my 1:1 CBD/THC concentrate. Not even close actually. I could definitely feel the CBD tincture but it had very little of the pain killing ability of my own extract even after a lengthy dab session.

Was I simply not taking enough of the glycerin CBD tincture? My ultimate reason for asking is the CBD strain buds are uber expensive where I'm at and even then it's only available at 1 dispense within 150 miles from my location...

Sounds wonderful. I have noticed that 98% of the cbd edibles contain nowhere near enough of a dose to do anything imho. I have found some coconut oil tabs that start to get into the range, but you still need a bunch of them.
Here's the study that people mention about cbd as an anti anxiety medicine. Note the 600mg dosage. IME you get some of those positive effects at lower dosages, but a 20mg cbd cap isn't going to do it.

My personal experience with a product produced by Dixie Botanicals:

I had the oil tested, unfortunately the actual CBD content was <.2%.

Hey everyone, thanks for the quick responses... I'm not going to lie this is very depressing to hear...

I completely understand WHY the CBD dominant strain of cannabis are so expensive since there's just such short supply from so few people growing CBD dom. strains. Still, for a guy like me who's lived paycheck to paycheck my entire life, coupled with huge student loans & medical bills, paying $250/half ounce is just not doable for me. Or it IS doable but that will consume half my take home pay and that's before rent or any other bills...

I was so excited when I first tried my CBD/THC extract because for the first time in literally 13+ years I knew what it was like to feel normal again. To have that ripped away because I can't afford enough of it to last a week is just soul crushing to be frankly honest.

And there's no way for me to grow since I live 25 miles from a dispensary and in Arizona that means you can't grow. I'm sure I'll figure something out or just live with the cold hard reality that for people like me, poor people, real medical marijuana is just too expensive. And I realize it's actually far cheaper than pharma's and much better for us all but that doesn't change the fact I won't be able to acquire the amount needed to properly treat myself.

I'm not looking to get high anymore, that stopped when I was 28 or 29 so just recently lol but seriously I just want a normal life and my extract did that for me. I got a nice little buzz but I'm completely clear headed the entire time. I dunno, it....just....bums me out...

Thanks again for all the input though everyone, much appreciated.

Sorry ideletemyself, the does suck often.

MANY of us have small grows in our homes in non-legal states. In my state, penalty wouldn't be huge, in others I would never do it. And I don't know about Arizona. With that said, if you have any extra room where people don't go, you can grow enough for personal supply easily and without detection. It does require a little capital, but once you have spent that your medicine becomes pretty darn to close to free.

Yeah I dunno what I'm gunna do...

Arizona has some of the hippest medical marijuana laws around but their non-medicinal marijuana laws are pretty fucking harsh, I seem to recall that just having paraphernalia with residue is enough to get you locked up so... There's that...

It's super frustrating because essentially any route I take to treat my condition is forcing me to contemplate doing things I would never do if I had any other choice.

I've given up on the medical profession as it's my belief that beyond surgeons & ER doctors the rest are morally corrupt quacks that force the worst medications into you that NEVER cure anything and most often cause more trouble than actually help at all. Or they want to start hacking off body parts which also doesn't guarantee the same issue won't return after said surgery.

On top of which I've been denied opiod pain medication MANY MANY times which just makes me so angry, at the doctors that can't tell the difference between a junky and a person in need or simply don't care, at the addicts for making my life horrible because they don't know how to control themselves. I've once told a doctor that all I wanted them for is so I could hopefully go out on a date since I hadn't had sex in 3 years due to simply being in so much pain that even striking up a conversation with a girl is impossible without them knowing I should probably be in bed resting or something and that's if I'm able to leave my house or the bathroom at all for that matter. Which is completely true. The doctor flat out told me he did not care...

I just don't know, ya know? I do have family living in Colorado if I could find a job out there while still living here in Arizona that would be doable i think. But with this economy and my luck in the job market(I've lost multiple great paying jobs due to my Crohn's disease or possibly Prostate cancer, I've never gotten an official "gold standard" diagnosis because my health insurance at the time refused to cover my colonoscopy, yay Aetna! but either way doesn't matter I'd have to take CBD to treat either condition) even that seems unrealistic... And it's not like I don't have skills or experience. I'm an IT tech/Web Programmer trying to ditch the former for the latter, with over about 7 years in the tech industry and about 3 or 4 in the web programmng industry. Though most places I've worked always have me doing both since I can I guess. Funny still is never enough for them NOT to can my ass at some point for missing work. I can't really blame them, it's business but at the same time that sort of thing has ruined my life pretty much the entire time during my 20's and on into my 30's...

Ah oh well guess it's time for me to make big boy decisions again...thanks again everyone

If not properly decarboxylated the tincture is unable to cross the blood brain barrier.

Could be a factor, many medibles &; tinctures suffer from imcomplete decarboxylation.
Do you think the CBDs need decarboxylation? I don't recall them being in an acid form like the THC-A.

Sorry your so feeling so bad bro, it really sucks to hear. I'm currently trying to obtain some seeds from Tikun Olam, an Israeli cannabis breeder who has access to some of the best cbd bred strains in the world for breeding.
A few strains of his are Rafael and Avi-dekel both of which test at 16-18% cbd and 0-1% thc.
You should get growing some medical strains bro, and Israel is on the forefront of medicinal genetics

Thanks, I think it's because I know how well I could be living and to have that just insight yet still out of reach is frustrating as fuck but I'm doing better today, mostly because tomorrow I get paid and I can go buy some more of that expensive ass CBD cannabis. But yeah the Canna-Tsu! that I have access to is supposed to be 15%+ CBD and like 1% THC... But the affects of my QWET extract with the 1:1 CBD:THC ratio was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Definitely high or buzzed but totally clear headed and utterly peaceful. My attitude was the best it's been since before my Crohn's or whatever developed. It's what I want back, I'm sure I'll find a way to get there...

Oh and in another thread I mentioned that I was giving my Mom's old pup the rest of my CBD tincture since we just recently found out the pup's liver is failing...

I'm very happy to report that the lil weiner dog is doing great actually, considering. She's able to eat every meal, she gets excited when she sees or hears people and is generally back to her old self. Sure she's still very weak and has moments when I can tell she's in pain but then we give her a lil of that CBD and she calms right down...

It's so utterly beautiful and amazing to witness.

I am epileptic and my medicines are no longer working. I am very interested in making it easier to acquire the high CBd tincture as it is promising to many others as well. Is there an ideal ratio of CBd to Thc? What strains would you start with? Is the objective of growing CBd rich strains still potency? I just wonder if the kind of attention that og requires would be necessary....seems like a different ball game altogether. Any advice would be great

The word is still out on what exactly is ideal. Most, myself included, think a "full spectrum" is most ideal. That meaning as many cannabinoids in high concentrations as possible with CBD & THC comprising most of it. I've only just gotten my hands on CBD dominant cannabis strains, specifically Canna-Tsu! And so far I've liked a ratio of 1:1 meaning I make a concentrate from 1 part Canna-Tsu! and 1 part any high THC strain I can afford. So equal amounts. However, tomorrow I'm going to buy a lil more Canna-Tsu! so that I'll for sure have enough for the week. So I might try a 2:1 ratio doubling my CBD amount...

Some other CBD strains that I know of and can remember lol:

Charlotte's Web
Harlequin
Remedy
Cannatonic
Juanita La Lagrimosa
Canna-Tsu!
Sour-Tsu!

But there are more out there and more coming I'm sure. The CBD buds look just like any other high grade cannabis. The Canna-Tsu! I got was pretty A grade from its looks, smell & most importantly affects it had on my symptoms which took them all away for about a solid 5 hours. Although that was in its concentrate form with the THC cannabis to reinforce it. When I first tested the buds by smoking in my bong I could see it lasting a good 3-4 hours...

Some CBD strains start out with a 1:1 ratio or there abouts. Like 8% CBD & 7% THC. I'd love to try those and see how they perform in comparison to my Canna-Tsu! + THC concentrate that I make which accomplishes the same thing, pretty much anyways.

From the little research I've done it seems the same principles apply to the CBD strains when growing. It's just that your plant/s will start out with much more CBD than THC. Perhaps some of the chemicals you'd use at certain points might differ but I kinda doubt it...

If you have any other questions I'll try to answer them if I know...

I'm not sure I understand your question...

If you're looking for a place that stocks CBD strains, I found the dispensary I get it from by using WeedMaps...

Wow thank you. A strain with little Thc so that the user could benefit from the CBd yet not be stoned all day would be the best. Mostly, I just want to give what works to people. Any reputable seed sources you might recommend?
