You obviously feel remorse. That is the first step.
You need to now go and get help. It is not normal to steal. You could have an underlying medical/psychological issue you are not aware of. Get help.

I used to steal money from my parents and felt really guilty so I stopped. I used to walk into wal-mart or a corporate store and leave with a few things in my pockets or hidden somewhere on my body. my girlfriend got me to stop, I don't steal very often anymore and when I do it's like a drink or food. the other day there wasn't anyone at the check out at CVS so I walked out with a drink after waiting around for mad long.

but dude, it's okay. I'm glad you feel ashamed, I know make's me sound like an asshole, but it's good that you are. you won't do it again. show your girlfriend that you know what you did was wrong and use the money you have for bud and buy something nice for her. take her out to dinner, have a long talk and tell her how you feel. have sex with her in an ally, start a fight with a random person and push a shopping cart onto a busy highway.

I wanted a soda, she wouldn't give 50c to me so I waited for her to go to sleep. when I thought she was I got in her purse and got the money. When i got back she was sitting on the bed with her purse open looking at me with a mean look.
