Cats and Plants

I had relatives at the house and they brought their two cats. One of them got into my grow room and ate the top of one of my new Blackberry plants. Marijuana is very toxic to cats. So, we had to take the cat to the vet. She is fine but I'm out $75 for the vet visit. Just an FYI keep cats out of the grow room.

Hate cats, so does my dog, one made the mistake of hiding under my deck this winter, that fight lasted about 2.5 seconds after she caught the scent and found it. Chased a coyote from the same spot, luckily she got yelled at bad enough the one or two times she stole a bud that she won't touch anything that smells like weed, she does take sun naps with the plants before they go into flower, then she is banned so I don't get her hair in the buds.

A bit of random trivia for you: For some reason some cats love the taste of trichomes! They may lick or chew your plants around the leaves or the buds, at the absolute worst time during the flowering marijuana stage. Once they get a taste, you'll have a monster on your hands. So if you have cats, make sure you keep them far away from your marijuana, especially during flowering!

Who told you dope is toxic to cats? If it was the vet you got swindled lol. Cats will go bonkers and eat every leaf out of an entire grow room if you left em in there for a day. And purr the entire time they do it.

My god that's a good looking pup.

go back to the vet and get your money back and report him to the BBB, or threaten a call, that might get your $$ back. my cat eats my plants all the time, 9 years now.

Hey that hairless animal in Uncle Bucks posts at one time was a Maine coon cat . Now look at it .. ..all from eating that low grade weed he grows. It's a damn shame !

I wish my cat was hairless!

On a side note, if the plants had been sprayed for bugs now that could be toxic.

I can guarantee you its not toxic to cats. My cats name is Stoney, and that's for a reason. She loves it. She would destroy a plant if I let her. Never has hurt her. She puked one time just like when they eat regular grass. By the way, I hate hearing people say they hate cats. Cats are cool.

Just run a couple of catnip plants in your deep water culture, it will keep them off your buds. But they might pollenate your room, who knows

Get yourself a Sphynx. They're wonderful pets. No hair. No hair balls. They don't mind getting a bath. Crazy smart. They just have a habit of sitting on or next to heat sources. Your lap being the primary one. If not that then your game consoles (cat figured out how to turn on the PS3 cause the fan blows out the warms) They'll drag towels, shirts or whatever else the can to a floor vent and burrow under it. And if you go to sleep expect it to come in and get up under your blankets. If you don't let if in. It WILL sing the song of its people outside your door. They'll sunbath under a HPS as well.
