Catholic church - When Will You Learn?

Once again the Catholic church has tried to stick its nose into places where it is not wanted. The Pope has openly attacked Britain on it equality laws which are designed to give equal rights to homosexuals as well trying to tidy up other laws protecting people from discrimination on grounds of gender race or age.

Benedict XVI has suggested that the equality legislation, which is is being lead by Harriet Harmen, is contrary to "natural law" and restricted Catholics freedom to act "in accordance with their beliefs".

The myth is now being perpetrated that this new legislation will force the church to employ homosexual vicars and the such, when this is completely untrue. It has been made clear by ministers that there are exemptions for faith schools and religious organisations so that a Catholic school would not have to employ a Atheist teacher or a church a Gay Vicar. This exemption only extends as far as the positions of the religions authority figures, ie vicars or teachers, so the church would not be allowed to discriminate on grounds of sexual orientation for positions such as cleaners or gardeners, as these would not be in a position to influence the teachings of the church.

I cant see why the Catholic church has to try and dictate to a country about its laws, which are passed by elected officials, especially when the UK is not even predominately Catholic, hell around 40% of the country don't even believe in a god.

Isn't it time that the Catholic church stopped trying to tell the world what to do as every time they express their feelings on matters it shows them for what they are, a bunch of idiotic bigots with their medieval ways of thinking. Not only should that catholic church learn to shut up about certain matters isn't it time the Vatican gets bought into line and made to follow European law, then we could have all those peodephile priests extradited to pay for their crimes. See homosexuality isn't wrong when your a priest sticking it into a little boy.

It would be nice if governments started prosecuting the whole organization for racketeering, conspiracy, criminal solicitation of minors, etc.
Top it off by removing all special considerations for religion. No more tax exemptions. No more "our beliefs shall not be questioned".

And give the Pope a nice flogging for his personal involvement in the conspiracy to molest children.
