catching rippers

So last season I had a few plants on my cottage property. A few weeks before the plants were harvestable they were stolen (by idiots no doubt). Also my cottage was broken into and a tv was stolen. This year I have installed video surveillance. I am obviously not growing my real crop in the same area, but I was considering growing basically a single decoy plant, just to find out the identity of the thief/ripper. Its obviously someone on my lake, so once I have their picture on tape it won't be hard to find their identity. I'm not sure if its even worth doing so though. Once I know who did it, I could directly confront them and either demand payment/beat the shit out of them. Its not even about money I just hate rippers with a passion. If you were in my position what would you do? I have some really shitty brick weed seeds, so the loss of one of those plants is nothing. I could also just find out who did it, go to their cottage, and steal all of the motors off their boats. They worth thousands, although I would probably just dump them in the lake. If they returned the favor, I would submit the video of them stealing my motors to the police, free and clear of legal constructions. BTW in case anyone asks I do own a variety of firearms but I don't intend to get them involved at all. So what would you do if you could identify and confront a ripper? Has anyone ever caught a ripper in the act before?

I would advise against doing anything physical or potentially illegal. It's likely some ignorant fool or kid. I'd just find somewhere else to grow. The only reason to setup some sort of decoy/video is if you thought it was something you knew that was ripping them off then you could tell them to go fuck themselves.

excellent , a vigilante type thread and not one of those threads that teaches you to rip, rock salt goes a long way and is very non-lethal projected from even a 12 gauge( unless you perhaps hit a vital organ like the testes).

i almost went to prison for it too. got lucky and did all my time in jail. taught me a lot.

like dont be a dumbass and do stupid shit .

Well one thing to keep in mind is we are growing illegally, and I agree it is certainly immoral to take someones plants. By all means do what you want, and stealing is probably a good enough reason to whoop somebody's ass. But there would probably be some negative consequences to your actions.

Get a clear picture of them & figure out who they are.
Hopefully you can find out where they live.
Knock on their front door & hand them a copy of the photo. Tell them that if anything comes up missing again, you won't be knocking next time!

i literally just saw the guy that almost tried to send me to prison for 7 years in a corner market buying cigs not 5 min ago.

Some people grow, some people steal. Hide your plants better but definitely do not do something stupid that may cause you trouble. Getting your tv stolen is a different situation.

a decoy is probly not a bad idearither way. if they get some they arent going to keep looking for more.

and burn his cottage to the ground i cought 1 ripper when i was 17 and i went right in to his house was a good firend but hes missin teth now lol they deserv it fuk them all but some things are beter left alone i would just find out who it iss probly some kids who stumbeled upon ur shit

I've heard rock salt goes deep into butt cheaks (vigilante running). Can't sit for a week :cry:
