You can turn the pump on any time. You should not water when the lights are out. YOu would keep it on until the desired depth of water is achived. That would depend on the size of the pump. THe number of times you would water per day depends on the medium you are using.

and ive been using lemons to lower the ph.. is that gonna be ok??
It could be, if you are using a ph meter to tell what the ph is after you have added the lemon juice. If you don't know what the ph of the water is adjusting it doesn't make sense.

Depends on the results you want. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say no, that is not going to be enough light. What you are trying to do with a mother plant is get vigorous veggatative growth. You will need more light.

I'll try. Dude , you need to do some research. Pick some grow journals others have posted in this forum. Try to pick some that are close to the same size area you have available, especially if they mention cfls. There are a lot of folks that are doing so. GK helped write a book about it.
There isn't a thing wrong with starting small, I know I did. You do need to try and do it as 'right' as you can. Reading about the problems others have encountered and what they did to solve it can save you time and money.
When you post a question try to share as much detail as possible. Let us know dumb things, like what kind of medium you are using, size of space available, possible budget, etc. Pictures are always appreciated. NO you can't just use sugar and get the same results you will get with molasses, but you can't use molasses in an ebb and flow system anyway.
Hope this helps. VV
