I need around a 350-450 cfm carbon filter. My tent has negative pressure and my phresh skinny filter is not working properly. I'm pulling air through my filter and smell is filling the room. Looking for suggestions for a new lightweight carbon filter. My exhaust fan is 450 cfm biut I have a speed controller. Thanks for the suggestions !

If you have a hydro shop near and feel comfortable visiting it then they will tell you what you need. Otherwise if you order online then read the specs on the filters available wherever you order from.

These are good filters made with good carbon . Gotham does good business. The link breaks down sizes and CFM's . Some of the filters have reversible flanges. Can't beat the prices. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-6-8-10-Inch-Carbon-Filter-Hydroponic-Air-Filter-Odor-Control-Scrubber-/290896270857?pt=US_Hydroponics&var=&hash=item43bac4d609 I have had the same one for three winters now and it scrubs the whole garage with the flower room door closed.
I've been looking to acquire a carbon filter fan myself and have been looking at pricing. My question is: I understood charcoal is the better filtration over coconut and other derivatives. Any thoughts on that ?

Coconut Shell Activated Carbon Coconut shell carbon's superior level of hardness makes them cleaner than most other carbons and gives them longer life expectancy. This, combined with their high activity level, makes them well suited for use in any kind of carbon filter or system. Aside from general air purification and deodorization, our coconut shell carbons are also very effective in solvent recovery applications. Acid Washed Granular Coconut Shell Activated Carbon, like its name, comes from the coconut shell that has been undergone steam activation process to create its activated carbon form. During activation, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Activated carbon pores can be divided into three general sizes: Micro-pores (diameter in the range of less than 2 nm) Meso-pores (diameter in the range of 2 - 25 nm) Macro-pores (diameter in the range of above 25 nm) Coconut shell carbon has mainly micro-pores to meso-pores, and due to its unique distribution of pores diameter, coconut shell activated carbon are very popular in the gas phase purification and potable water purification industries.
