Carbon filter question.

I got a 2x2x4 tent with a ipower carbon filter. The filter works pretty good but on my last grow (afghan skunk) towards the end of flowering the smell was pretty strong. I was not sure if the air was leaking or the smell was too much for the filter. So on my next grow i was thinking if i could possibly wrap the filter with activated carbon pre filter or maybe even have the fan suck air through the carbon filter and blow out another small diy filter. Has anybody ever tried this before?

When your fan is running does it pull the walls of the tent inward? Either way, with any skunk strains you're not going to completely kill the smell. Especially not towards the end of flower.. If smell is a big issue for you I've heard that northern lights is one of the least pungent strains to grow. Maybe look into growing some strains with less smell.

You could add a second filter on the end of your exhaust duct for sure. Or you could always use a second carbon filter with it's own fan in the tent itself scrubbing the air. Then there will be less odour in the air before being filtered on the way out of the room. This may eliviate the smell issues late in flower.

bought the filter late oct. I am going to buy a carbon filter sheet touse as a pre filter. Then i am also gonna place a sheet at the end of the exhaust to help filter a bit more. If that dont work ill just have to buy a good carbon filter.
