Spent groundhog day workin in the cave.
100_1946.jpgBrother gave me the Craftsman stool and it is perfect for rolling around the rooms and just the right height for plant inspection.
100_1947.jpgShould've done theese a couple days ago. Damn you bad back!
100_1974.jpgTheese are just right!

100_1949.jpg100_1978.jpgIn their new home. 5 gal Smartpots
100_1948.jpgFoliar feeding...need to make like a shower stall so spray doesn't go everywhere. I wonder how those people who swear by foliar feeding keep their rooms clean? Maybe I'll let you know soon. lol

The outside of this Bubba Kush pre'98 was ready to de-stem and jar but after de-stemming I had to lay it out on a screen cause they were so dense the unexposed parts were too moist. Better than too dry I guess.

I also instaled the old light mover in the veg room. All we need is a slave trolley and we can move both lights! I also ran a short piece of 8" from the light exhaust to a nearby household intake so now basement isn't too hot and it is heating the house for most of the night!

If you noticed the DWC bucket in the shots I did start one and will make a journal for my DWC experience. Peace!

for foliar spraying i have a small (mabye 3-3) piece of white board that i hold behind any plant im spraying so the extra spray hits the board, and when they get bigger and denser i usally just have enough vegetation that the spray wont penetrate through. so i kinda have a one wall shower stall and it works for um all. haha i would LOVE a cave, but im working with a shed :( your the caveman im a shedhead

I will, my area already looks similar. I have a Q. In your exp, would using say a 250-400w MH during Veg rather than some t5-8bulb cause the plants yield to increase? basically does a bigger plant in veg yield more than a smaller 1 vegged under a t5, even tho both will be put under the 2x 600w

Got my seeds!! WOOHOO!!! Okok so it's my fourth order but man it is SO exciting...I can't wait about 5 months!! lol Seriously it is so awesome though. 2 years ago this was illegal in my world and now I can MAIL ORDER FLAVORS!!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!! Okok...sorry..back to reality.
100_1983.jpgHere's the very young ladies. I think Paradise seeds packaging is better, more professional. We'll see if that matters.
100_1984.jpgThis is the third shirt I've received from them. First order was in a coffee cup and I asked for the seeds in original breeders packets so they smashed the Greenhouse Seeds wheel packet thing into it and the seeds all fell out when I opened it. No big deal but I'd recommend the shirts. However this is the lamest of the three they've given me. I think if i wear this people will be saying "Awseome bro! So what church do you go to?"

Here' a few pics from today.

I'm not sure man. My original veg was 10 4' dual tube shop light things hooked together so there were 2 sets of 5. At that point it was getting warm. I've never used T-5 cause after the shoplights I was using the 400w lights from the flower That I'd upgraded to 1000w. Not sure about cost but bulb replacement might be cheaper with MH and brighter, although I'd bet the T-5's grow just fine. Air cooled MH would be a better cantidate for a mover someday though...lol....I'm just sayin! lol Thats how Caveman thinks.

HAHA dude for the shirt get some white out and and make the f in life a t and scratch off the l and e and it would say "high off it" and for the t5 metal halide...it deoends on a few things but MOSTLY how large you wanna veg um...cause with a mh you CAN get more lumens so it will get a bigger plant in veg but t5s are GREAT and in some cases (vegging for under a month) it is WAY WAY better. so if you want indoor MONSTERS!!!! mh but if your cool with tight compact qaulity then t5s all the way, (not through flower im just saying im 100% behind them)

Yesterday I went and got another magnetic 1000w ballast to replace the digitial-THAT'S RIGHT-I said replace the digital because It does not like to fire my dual arc bulbs. I've also had problems when the power flashes off or something, the lamp won't re-fire till I physically unplug and then re-plug in the ballast. In a world where automation is paramount that won't do. I don't care about what fires the bulb, I care far more about delivering the right spectrum at a brilliance that is effective.
100_1991.jpg
Besides, the colors are more balanced for personal viewing. I hate that damn orange, makes my eyes weird. Probably why I don't think I copuld ever do an LED exclusive grow.

100_1992.jpg100_1993.jpg

Oh yea, ok so I replace the eye-hortilux super HPS bulb with the ushio dual arc. Guess the ballast and bulb are backups...unless I mount it in the middle of the other 2 lights!! Hmmm...

Dam your cave is WICKED!
Nice, those bulbs are like 150$?
If you got a back up ballast, check out the MH conversion bulbs for balanced spectrum an UVB.
The UVB makes the ladies turn WHITE with trics.
I love UVB.

Thanks for your compliment SCARHOLE. Hey glad you stopped by it sounds like you're just the person to ask. That extra digital ballast will fire any kind of 1000watt bulb (well, except dual-arc which it would technically fire but wouldn't run well) and I have read that when you put a bulb in an air cooled hood you loose most of the UVB to deflection. So I was thinking that I would hang a naked bulb in between the other 2 air cooled dual-arcs, like I've seen in High Times. I the magazine they have whole grows with naked bulbs hanging everywhere and they use both MH and HPS. So the question is which would be the best bulb to do that with?

mercury vapour bulbs are the most( an the least light), Mh next.
Hps have almost no Uvb.

Glass absorbs alot, so i move the glass an give em full Mh light.

Reptile lighs got hella Uvb also.

Welcome back! It's been awhile, but due to my ULTRA addictive personality I decided to stop in here once a week or so. After I got laid off I started spending waaay too much time on here. Anyway, onward!

100_2035.jpgThis bulb exploded 3 weeks into service! Luckily the store replaced it for me, they're $175!
100_2047.jpgI'm switching to this because I like the sound of extra beneficial micro's and the Advanced Pro-Mix stuff was burning my clones. So now I'm mixing this with about 25% 'Just Right X-Tra' biology in a bag stuff.

100_2046.jpgUUGGGHH! Cleaning the clone machine sucks but it working well does not.
100_2043.jpgCan't grow them all....sigh. Stupid rules.
100_2065.jpgThis 8" inline booster fan was sitting on top of a CAN 125 carbon filter and apparently as it ran the vibrations and gravity squeezed the housing of the fan breaking the blades. Amazingly the blades broke in a symmetrical fashion so the fan kept running fine.
100_2066.jpgSupposed to have 8 blades. So I replaced the broken fan. Also figured out that I should be moving as much air as possible over 2 1000watt bulbs running in-line, so I now have 2 of theese fans hooked up to the lights...It's much better! The room is cooler and the canopy temp is lower.

100_2064.jpgFinally got the green headlight and it works great. I used it to change the broken inline fan during darkness. Also now it is much easier to show visitors who can't really see it lit up.

100_2070.jpgThis is crazy Cheese!

100_2053.jpgOn her way to flower.

Here's another report from the cave.

100_2004.jpgTheese help CAVEMAN relax when not in the cave. Someday they'll include video.
100_2094.jpgBaby Chrystal plants from Nirvana.
100_2009.jpg100_2011.jpgAlready thinking about summer. I cut this exhaust vent into the house. As soon as it gets too warm I'll hook up the light vent and send all that hot air straight outside. The backdraft damper's are a must and worth the money in my opinion.
100_2086.jpg100_2108.jpgI finaly got the slave trolley and hooked it up so both veg room lights are moving. The plants are already bushing!
100_2090.jpgThe bigger the buds get the longer it takes to cure. GGGRRR

Great White Shark from Greenhouse Seeds.
