Can't upload custom avatar

Signed up recently and it still won't let me upload a custom avatar. It is within both the file size and dimension restraints but nothing shows up when I upload it.

Has anyone else had trouble with this? Any idea why this is happening?

I think the custom avatar turns on around 50 posts , just hang in . VV

I'm now in the 80s and still can't upload a custom avatar. Any ideas?

Your image is a GIF. If you altered the size of it to meet the avatar requirements then that is likely why it isn't showing up. GIFs are meant to be kept in their original size are very fussy when it comes to altering them without the appropriate software.

Is it an animatated gif? If not try doing a "save as" and changing it to a JPEG format, which are easily altered. If it is animated and too big you probably can't use it.

I've tried both GIFs and jpegs. Neither work.

Just loaded mine. In the past in uploading pics, dimension sizes also relate to pixel sizes. You may want to try to shrink it some more. What software are you using to edit your pic? Note I'm only at 5 posts so I don't think there is a minimum of posts. Also the first time I thought I was loading my avatar I was actually loading a pic in my profile...duh.
