Got 30 seeds from amsterdam. 7 have been wasted. I just cant germinate for heaven's sake.

I tried the "tissue between 2 plates", I tried dropping them in normal soil, nothing seems to happen!!!!

I heard about placing them in a glass of water, would this way work? any tips?

Thanking you

i spray a paper towel, place the moist pt in a tupperware container so the seeds are on the sidewalls. and place the container in a dark cabinet. usually sprouts within 3 days.

In the past Ive tried with just a paper towel, lightly misting the towel, and that hasnt worked occasionally.

I have had the same problem as you before and the first time I ever germinated seeds was when I dropped them into a glass of distilled water and covered them so no light got in. Now the plants are 14" tall and ready to be flowered.

Here is my method, it works GREAT! I soak my beans in tap water for a night or until they stop floating. I then put them in a damp, not soaked, paper towel and fold it over them once. Put it in a plastic zip lock bag. Put your zip lock bag on something that generates heat like a cable box or the fridge.

Give it a few days, seeds that have been stored usually take a bit of time to pop. Fresh beans usually pop in less than 3 days.

Wait until the root is about 1/2" and transplant into your favorite growing medium.

Nearly 100% germination rate for the last 4 years.

My advice is be patient and grow all of them that you have space for, keep them alive long enough to clone, flower the clones and kill any males. Tada, you never have to germinate or start with a seedling ever again unless you want to try a different strain.

Whats the best ways you guys have encountered in germinating these seeds?

Thanks

You need to be more patient with your seeds.

Cold temps will also slow down germination to 7 days or so easy.

Its winter you know

Try my method and come back when they pop.

I promise they will if you do exactly as I posted.

If you have problems with patience then you are starting out the wrong hobby.

Next batch are going im going to be using dubb83's method (ziplock)
for now, I placed my 4 day old 2 seeds into peat cups with soil. placed it over a heater on low.

Watch out for peat, it is very acidic!

I would place the zip lock bag on either a cable box or fridge, some kind of electronic that is always on and generating heat. A heater might be too much!

the seeds i germed are having a hard time sprouting. they cant dislodge their shell i guess. but so my friend germed over 100 seeds in one big batch and let all of them sit for like a week, maybe longer and they all dislodged from their shells and everything in the paper towel, before he even planted them. all the plants survived because im growing some of them. so im gonna try his method next time. wait hella days
