CannaCaps. How do you make them as strong as possible?

Hey guys. I've been working on canna caps for awhile now. I have done 4 different batches using different methods. Here's the summary:

Batch 1:
1oz of trim
2 cups coconut oil
Decarbed for 30 mins at 250, uncovered
Extracted using the water and stove top method.

Batch 2:
1 g bho
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 tsp of liquid lecithin
Decarbed bho for 30 mins @ 250, covered
Bho mixed into hot coconut oil along with lecithin
Cooked 3 more times for 30 mins at a time at 250, covered in a Pyrex dish.

Batch 3:
4 gs high grade flower
2 tsp lecithin granules
Just enough coconut oil to cover flower (roughly 1/16 of a cup)
Decarbed as I had before
Cooked the oil and flower in the oven the same way as above, covered

Batch 4:
1/4 oz flower
2 tsp lecithin granules
Roughly 1/8 cup of coconut oil
Extracted in a crock pot for 4-5 hours.

So far what I've come to see is that batch 4 created a heavier effect than all the others. But doesn't get me high like I thought it would. I'm a heavy smoker. But every recipe says it'll put any stoner on their ass.

I've been hearing about not decarbing, and have gotten really stoned off of not decarbed edibles.

So my question is, why are my caps not strong? I use the most soluble fat of coconut oil, the supposed added perceived potency of lecithin, and the decarb that's supposed to activate it, and I'm definitely using quality flower.

To me decarbing sounds counterproductive.

26 grams of bho to 1 cup of coconut oil.
Raise to 240 deg for 20 minutes.
Fill caps while really warm to keep the oils together.

when i make caps i always mix bho and coconut oil in a pyrex shot glass in the oven at 180 for 2 hours covered with foil. to be exact i use 4g for 1 oz of oil. this makes me about 48 caps if i remember right, one will get most people but two will take you down for a bit.

Thanks a lot man,
It definitely seems like that would be really potent.
Do you decarb first? And did you heat the coconut oil first to melt the shatter into? Or did you just let it melt on its own while it was cooking?

buy a Magical Butter Machine. Set to 2 hours @160F. add one to two cup weed, 2-3 cups oil. push the button, Done 2 hours later!
And You can strain your oil, butter, etc, you can also re-cook the oil again with the same amount of weed. If you want it stronger still, cook it a third time with 1/4 of the amount of weed. After that, the oil is pretty much saturated.

I use to do this in a double boiler to control temps during cooking. Crockpots are bad for your oil unless it has digital temp control.

These machines are like bread machines for oil making. drop in the ingredients, press a button, Done! Its a product MADE for canna that doesn't pretend its not.

And don't buy from ebay or amazon, they are all counterfeits, and the people at MB are awesome.

Using bud it's difficult to get consistency in your dosage. I use the attached recipe but it uses sift/kief, not bud or BHO which I've found makes it more consistent for dosage/potency. 80's get me buzzed for a few hours and a great night's sleep. 160's have gotten me stoned for about 20 hours, like woke up the next morning more stoned than when I crashed. You can easily adjust dosage by increasing the amount of kief in the recipe. I'd make 100's and try one first, then 2 if you find your tolerance can handle more.

We make cannacaps by mixing an Absolute with coconut oil, and then adding corn starch to stiffen it into silly putty. That keeps it more stable and less leak prone for carrying around.

We then load that into a O or OO cap.

That's a good tip @Fadedawg , thanks. How much corn starch do you use?

I notice you say decarbing sounds counter productive

i post this alot
For a compound to have "drug likeness" and hit receptors it must have a polar surface area (psa) under 60 angstroms in order to cross the blood brain barrier and reach these receptors.. in the more polar, acid form(thca) has a psa of 66...meaning you will feel effects from cbd as the cb1 receptors give you a high and located in the brain.. Other receptors are located throughout the body and don't require a reduction in polarity . for say arthritis..as no bb barrier to cross

a psa under 60 is optimum and some will cross up to about 70. thca at 66 will cross in high doses..this would be a huge waste of producthowever..especially since it takes a relatively high dose to see therapeutic effect, after decarbing it drops to 30..
cbda is more polar than thc with a psa of 77 and cbd about 40

For most people and ease I would say the strongest possible is simply decarb hash oil visually then add to melted coconut oil.
Your tolerance obviously determines dose.. Which can range from 50-500 mgs
I usually suggest roughly 3-4times what you would smoke should be ingested orally

Thanks guys for all the info!

I don't know where I can find hash where I live, so tomorrow I shall do another test.

I'm going to use 2 grams high quality flower to 1 tbsp coconut oil.
I will do do a decarb at 300 for 15 mins.

I will then boil a small amount of water and add the coconut oil, then add the decarbed flower. I will use the the water for the sole purpose of submerging the flower completely. Also, flat range stoves are too inconsistent with heat. That's what I have and I don't wanna chance burning off any precious thc.

I chose this method cause 1) it seems like a good way to get more thc into each pill and 2) I did my first batch using this method and so far those seem to be the ones that have the best effect after all.

But before I do this I have some questions.
1) am I supposed to decarb the flower uncovered or covered?
2) would a crock pot on low (possibly even warm?) be better for this method?
3) I have seen articles and posts on forums discrediting the use of water during extraction but it seems like it would be the best way.

I want to master this with flower before I get into buying the bho again. It would be expensive to keep making mistakes with it.

Any feedback is appreciated!

it seems to me that just enough coconut oil to cover the flower works the best without adding any water. Are you grinding your buds before decarbing them?

I decarb my oil, not my flowers, so I can track progress by watching the CO2 bubbles.
